Has anyone swapped out there cats for a set of mufflers?
I have the TUBI with Comptech headers and pulled off the cats because of the SC PSI I am running is very high and my tuner said to pull them off or they will be trashed. Now the car is a little too loud. If so what type and model muffler did you use? I want a bolt on muffle. I can have flanges welded to the muffler so it bolts on but the size has got to be correct to fit.

Shad has been a very big help in getting where I am today. I just ordered Test pipes and I’m going to do something with the throttle body. That will be it for me. My goal is 450 to 500RWHP. This car still has to be street able. After installing the test pipes I’m sure I will be trying to build a sleeve to insert into them to drop down the noise level.

Ken,

You can use a resonator in place of the cat and it really lowers the sound and makes it more tuned and even exhaust note. They are not restrictive because they are just perforated exhaust pipe. Use a large one with more sound deadning and it still weighs less than the cats. If you use one that is 12 inches long you can just cut the test pipe in the middle and weld in the resonator.

Isn't your "muffler" the Tubi?

How about some race style cats? Dali Racing sells some, not sure about the other vendors. I'm sure you're not the only one in this situation so hopefully others who have similar setups can respond.

They dropped all the unwanted sound. They are actually tunable. You can open up the holes or cut down the discs for a custom sound. This is the best option I have seen to date.
