That thing is in amazing shape to have that many miles on it.

Very clean car. I was blown away at the amazing condition of that thing. I was thinking about doing that in my service dept but I dont have as much open or available extra space to spare. Oh, and cars from NY/NJ dont look anywhere near that clean at 300K:biggrin:

Haha, thanks guys! That's my beater Legend on there ;). Hoping to join the elite ranks of NSX owners soon, but in the meantime the old 6-speed coupe continues to get me down the road as reliably as ever! If anyone needs justification for strict adherence to maintenance schedules, this Legend is a pretty good example. If you take care of your Acura, it will take care of you :).

I saw your maint. records and was shocked to see no head gasket:eek: Hey, at least you have a 6 speed:biggrin:

Still on the original! Knowing full well that the Legend is typically known for its susceptibility to HG failure, I pay very close attention to the cooling system. I have the coolant changed frequently (use only blue Honda Type 2), keep a close eye on the radiator for any leaks, and I recently had every single hose related the cooling system (28 in total) change for preventive maintenance's sake. Plus I'm a pretty conservative driver, so I like to think that helps a little :).

But yeah, at least it's a 6MT. My other beater is a '91 Si 4WS Honda Prelude that fulfills my need for tight handling when I get the itch to take the corners aggressively. ;)

Hi

Very nice. I like those "old" coupe's. You have driven around the world with yours

I remember I saw somebody posting some very nice pictures here on Prime of their nicely modded Legend coupe. I can't find them anymore. It was blue and the pictures was out in the desert or something.

I will change my beater in a couple of years and I can't find anything that I want. Only thing that makes me tingel a little is the Legend Coupe.

Maybe I buy Autovation's Lexus or I just keep my old 1983 Vw Golf I

Regards

Sad part is, I was looking around on autotrader and ebay, and all the legend coupes are beat. :frown:

Thanks for the kind words, Martin! You should definitely keep your eyes peeled for a coupe.

It's very true. They're getting cheap and falling into the hands of people who really don't take care of them. The Legend has been out of production for 13 years now, so it's getting a lot tougher to find any in decent shape.

I've seen the car in person, and it's in amazing shape, 300K miles or not.

Very nice. Makes me miss my 6-Speed LS Coupe myself. Of all the cars I've owned, my 6-Speed Legend Coupe and my NSX are the only two I really miss. The NSX I have to have another one again someday, the Legend Coupe I'll probably not pursue again simply due to the age, but it still turns my head when I see a nice one on the street.

Original suspension? Wow, I had to replace the suspension on my dad's car around 100k miles, and it's all free miles.

This guys car look brand spanking new!!!

Thanks for the vouch Ben! Your Legend coupe ain't so shabby either :). And congrats on your 1,000th post on Prime ;).

I never knew you sold the NSX, Chris! I'm going to look you up with I have my coupe ferried out to Hawaii. I've only got 24 more states to hit up on the mainland in the coupe, and then I'm thinking about retiring it out there. :)
Original suspension?
Indeed, I've never changed a thing. The ride isn't as firm as I'm sure it once was, and the car does have a tendency to wear tires on the insides even post-alignment (I'm guessing that the ball joints and other components have reached the end of their useful lives).
