Cleaning/Restoring Polished Rim

Hello,

I have a question about how to restore the inside of my wheels. They have a sort of rust/gunk thing going on the inside. I noticed this same stuff on a couple other of the Roja wheel pics in the forum. Thanks!

Not sure if it'll work but try some Turtle Wax Liquid Bug and Tar Remover.

I'll give that a shot, think I have some in the garage somewhere....

andyray1983, I just did mine. I pulled them all, washed with Dawn, scraped off what didn't come off, wiped down with thinner, rewashed, polished with a Z____ wax, remount. Looks great.

So you wax down the inside using normal Z____ formula Z-3 or Z-5? This sounds like a good idea....

actually I used the one step Z______ that was in our gift bag at NSXPO 2003 (thanks Ken). Worked great.

Use a product by Rolite called AP-300. It is an aluminum polish designed for aircraft. Once you have the major gunk cleaned off with a bug and tar remover, the Rolite will restore the luster. After you get the wheels back to looking good, you should protect them with your favorite synthetic such as Klasse, Zaino or einszett Glanz
