OK, after spending two days filling in rock chips on the front hood, rubbing them down with the Langka solution, and then 3 step polishing, I have decided that after I get the front bumper & hood resprayed (eventually) that I am going to do a clear bra next time.

My question to clear bra owners is do the rocks/debris still make marks but now only on the clear bra or for the "most point" protect it so that the car looks as good as when you started? In other words am I going to have little dimple marks all over the clear bra after a couple of years?

I had the clear bra on my NSX and it always looked great. I have a clear bra on my DD Prius with 100K miles now. It has a couple of hits that went through the clear bra to the paint, but they are very small. The clear bra takes all of the hits and they usually just wax off and leave the clear bra looking fine. I can't imagine how those few hits which penetrated the clear bra would have damaged the hood w/out the clear bra.

I installed a clear bra on mine ~1,500 miles ago and it has taken quite a few hits that I was sure would mar up the finish of the bra, but when I pulled over to inspect there was nothing!

Now I am sure if it takes repeated hits in the same spot it will look dimpled but the way I figure it, $500 for two or three years and a few marks, vs. repainting and divots in the paint it is worth it. I have noticed that quite a few P-Cars come from the dealership with them and a few of my friends track the crap out of their 996s and they seem to be fine too. My vote is for the clear bra, I will do it on any of my new vehicles.

Cheers,
