Clear Bra

What to get your opinion on clear bra and whether how it would look a few year down the road, especially on the partial hood and fender coverage?

I read that there is some special maintenance to keep it in good condition, but with the UV, I suspect that it would become dull in a few years. Furthermore, I think the point would be different if it is removed.

It is also quite expensive and just wondering if it is worth it.

BTW: this is not for my NSX.

Get a clear vinyl wrap on it. You can get gloss or matte clear laminate.

I had clear bra (3M paint protection film) professionally applied on my 91 NSX and Mustang and was pleased with it. As far as maintenance, after waxing you have to be careful to remove the wax buildup around the edges of the film for cosmetic reasons, but that's it. The film did its job and protected the paint. I would definitely use it again. I'm not sure how strong the vinyl wrap material is, but I'd be surprised if it's tough as the 3M PPF. Just don't cover headlights due to potential issues with heat buildup that may lead to lens cracking.

Clear bra(Ventureshield) is a 3M product I use. It is far far superior to anything else out there. The typical Vinyl wrap(race cars) is approx. 3 mil thick(that's 3/1000ths of an inch). Venture shield is 8 mil thick and does a much much better job of protecting the car.

I would completely detail the car and try to take out any swirl marks, haze, spider webs etc prior to get the bra done(but no wax!). Ask them to do the whole hood, whole fenders, front bumper and both mirrors and specifically ask them to wrap it around the body panels. That way you can't have any visible edges. You can tell by feel of course.
