Climate Control Fan Speed

If your Climate Controll Fan speed Motor only blows on high speed. Probable cause fan speed power transistor bad. I found a repair guy who will fix the power transistor for $150.00 plus shipping. If your old one is found to be good he will ship old one back with instructions on how to self test system further for $50.00. Cost of new power transistor from dealer is between $271.00 -$295.00

$150 sound like a good deal over new price but 95% of "blower only runs on high" problems are caused by a problem with the Climate Control unit not the power transistor. So the $50 fee to test it would be better spent towards having the CCU repaired.

I echo Brian's sentiments - he is absolutely not being self-serving here but speaking from knowledgeable position and statistically proven.
I think majority of transistor fails on early cars were probably all cleaned out years ago & most current issues are most likely the CCU as Brian suggested. They suffer from same failure mechanism as the Bose amps, low grade capacitors that are at end of life.
