1996 Twin Turbo 300zx, mileage, less than 10k miles. Curious what your thoughts are. Car has black interior, 5 speed, beautiful condition. I want to make sure the price is not too out of line with reality.

p.s. timing belt has not been changed, possible the car still has original tires on it! Window sticker is missing unfortunately, but the car is really nice:) but expensive lol!!!

thanks!

Hmm I would not consider a 96 a collector but a 95 I would.

Nissan dropped variable cam timing for the 1996 300ZX TT, however, due to the cost of making the system conform to OBDII diagnostic standards. Although the car's horsepower was still rated at 300, it's estimated that the 1996 engine delivered more like 280.

Its probably still worth 20 maybe.

it's the last year and part of the last 300.....
asking price was $30k....

You know what I think:wink: $25K:wink:

I'd have the car looked over well regardless. There is a decent chance the drive shaft mount is loose as it decays with age, for instance.

If you have any specific questions, I have ~7,000 technical posts in the 90-96 300zx forum on zcar.com. They are very difficult to value but 96's will be the most valuable. While the 95 may be "better", the 96's were the last year and more importantly even rarer than the 95's production number wise. Also, the 96's have consistently dynoed equal to previous models to the point that power differences are statistically insignificant, despite the engine changes.

I'd say 25-27.5k is about right if it's been stored in the south. A 96 n/a never titled w/ 3k miles sold in the range at a dealer about a year back. I'd estimate less than 50 cars world wide are 96 twin turbos [black is the best as well] that fit your description outside of museums/collections.

A 91 Twin Turbo with 17K miles was at $22K with 5 days remaining last week. I'm too lazy to go lookup what it actually sold for.

that idea was short lived. i got majorly turned off about buying the car after some experience today on the 300zx forum....

watching some of those members posts was like a train wreck lol

The 300zx forums used to be great (twinturbo.net and zcar.com) then went downhill over the years as prices dipped into the 10K range for a high mileage TT. I see the same starting to happen here :(. There are still a lot of extremely knowledgeable people in those forums but you really have to wade through a lot of kill type threads to find the meat.
