Can someone please tell me what is the color code of '94 16/17 oe rim? I know someone might've answer this already, but i just cant find it.. pls help

94-96 rims were gunmetal color. Living in the Midwest I can vouch that they are easily scarred by our rough potholed roads. I do not know how the 97-01 chromed rims hold up up to these conditions, but would guess better.

i believe they are call solaris silver.. and i just found the color code: NH-536M.

I had my rim repainted, and i am not happy with the result, they are a bit lighter than OEM solaris silver.. i am debating if i should have the shop to redo it.. i doubt they will though..

can someone who had repainted their own rim, please give me some pointer...? thanks

I am having some wheels repainted right now but not to the stock solaris silver. A friend of mine however is having his painted at the same shop to the OEM color. Any good paint shop should be able to get the right paint and/or match the OEM caps. the metal flecks need to be matched as well as the color. When I was looking through colors there were literllay a thousand grays with different hues and different metalic fleck content / spacing / size etc.

My recommendation would be to either a - find a good paint shop who will repaint wheels or b - have your center caps repainted to match the new paint on you wheels.

Good Luck,

Jeff

I am always amazed at the lack of interest in powder coating. We have recently adopted it for a lot of mechanical components and equipment my company manufactures. Las month, I took a spare set of 16/17 NSX rims I had laying around and had them stripped, powder coated (more than 600 color choices) AND clear coated. I compared them to another set OEM of 16/17 I have and they are far superior IMO. I also had four alu center caps purchased from Dali powder coated. Total cost $180.

I know this is a old thread but good information on Solaris Silver for wheels.
Try NH536M-3
It is a little darker than NH536M. You can dial the color in from this code.
The DuPont# is F2684k for Chroma Base.

my NSX has powdercoated wheels. i really like them. so does everyone else. :D

Joe did you use NH536M-3 on your oem wheels? I love the color on them and was just curious.

Nice... ive always loved the stock wheels on your car, i think the color sets them off and really makes them stand out. They are so subtle but noticeable from stock, Definitely my favorite NSX around i remember always seeing it and saying to myself "wow thats nsxstasy" my dream car. I really do love your car, lol something about all the subtle mods that are definitely 100% tastefully done!! ;) :)

Just a note to those who have not seen pbassjo's car (or haven't looked closely at his avatar)... this is a reference to the car and its license plate, not to anyone's username. There were five cars with the properly-spelled NSXTASY license plate at NSXPO 2004! (From NY, VA, PA, GA, and IL.)
