Compression or Leakdown test? What tools?

Are there any DIY tools for the compression or leakdown test? I've a tool for the compression test but with a long flexible hose and the spark plugs are very, very low within the cylinder head. What tool do you prefer?

Anyhow: Fuel delivery and ignition should be dead while doing the test. What is the easiest way to stop them? Pulling the fuse?

The long hose tester works fine. I typically disconnect the "Fuel Injector Resistor Pak" located on the right side of the engine bay(large multi-pin connector) to stop the fuel.

Leakdown requires a specific "Leak Down Tester". YOu can check on the Snap-On website to see it.
