How much faster can I expect my 2001 to be with a comptech supercharger? My only mod so far is the exhaust. How much improvement should I have in 0 to 60 and 0 to 100 times? jeff

A lot! Night and day difference but the more mods you have the more power you will make...intake, AEM, high boost..

There is always something to wait for. IMO, 12 months ago there was only one choice. Now you have the CTSC, LoveFab and the FX guys. Three. Not sure what else you may want.

You cant do turbo on the cheap. In most cases I would say that the availability of a competent tuner would have the biggest impact. If you dont have access to a good tuner, you have only ONE choice (base CTSC). If you're close to Michigan or Vegas, that helps to open the other two up, but it could get horrifically expensive to keep flying tuners into town if you dont have a good one close.

The difference between a stock NA2 and a CTSCd NA2 is about the same as a base 996 and a 996TT.

Should I not wait for a good turbo system to come out at an affordable price?

I certainly can't speculate on what SOS and others are doing, but from a business perspective, I wouldn't expect a great deal of "new" products to come out for the NSX. Perhaps an inexpensive adaptation of a new product for another car - yes - but it just wouldn't make sense to R&D a new plug 'n play turbo or SC (or other major part for that matter) when the total market size is only ~2500 cars in the U.S, and falling.

In other words - what you see is what you get, excluding custom offerings like the 3.8L rebuild etc. My opinion and expectation at least, but I'm not in the industry.

Where did you get this number from? its closer to ~9000 NSX's in the US. Unless you were saying that only 2500 would be interested in boosting, but that would seem high too.

~2500 for later 3.2 liter Manual NSX. the actual # maybe even lower.

So there truly is a night and day difference between the SC and non SC? Should I not wait for a good turbo system to come out at an affordable price?

Yes and the power delivery is very smooth and linear- Similiar to stock but with more horsepower. I love it and wish the NSX came from the factory with that kind of power.

Turbo or SC are both great ways to boost power-no pun intended. It just depends on how much power, how it is delivered and how much money you want to spend.

It's not a posted # but my calculation of how many are left on the roads, assuming 10% (1/10 years) are toasted per year due to wreck. For a sportscar that gets driven a lot, 10% is pretty conservative. Just take total production by year, and assume only 90% of that are available at then end of each year, projected to 2006. I spot checked against # of Autotrader ads for each year and the relative numbers (2000s vs. 1991s for example) were about right.

2500 of these suckers left boyz. 700 '91 & '92s, '700 02+s and a pretty even distribution of the remaining years. Get 'em while they're hot!
