I have a '91 NSX with comptech headers, intake, and exhaust. Looking into supercharging it.

Has anyone had any issues with daily driveability while running a comptech supercharger? Is it essential to build up the clutch/ECU or any other components along side the supercharger? What are the overall pros and cons?

Also, has anyone heard about the fate of Comptech? I know they went out of business but has anyone re-purchased the company? I am interested in if there is an actual company to go to for additional tech support/questions.

the discussion about Comptech, as a company, has been beaten down... but i guess you didn't get the word. they are now known as ct engineering.

enjoy.

As the others have said your specific questions have been addresed many times over.

However as to your first question - is the CTSC the way to go - my opinion:

I have a '91 with CTSC "hi-boost", methanol, AEM ECU, etc. I love the thing. Extremely reliable 380 whp. It will change the enjoyment of your car fundamentally. However, with the LoveFab's, etc. turbo setups out there, I would seriously look at those if I had had those options back then.

CTSC is awesome and reliable. Give a hard look at turbo-charging and make some real assumptions regarding budget and see where you end up.

Whatever you do - get someone with NSX experience AND forced induction tuning experience to install and tune - two every different things.

i agree with all of the above. I have the bbsc and have had pretty good experience, although I'm local to the maker. I think anyone who has access to a good tech and tuner can have an equal experience. way back when, i would have said only do it if you were local, but I think time has proven that the tuner is a lot more important than people gave credit initially.

the ctsc can't be beat for what's already been stated, but the turbo options and bbsc shouldn't be discounted out of hand.
