I received my new A022s today, but there are more dots and marks on the side of these than the set that is currently on the car.

I looked up the section in FAQs titled "What Are Those Dots On The Sidewall" and it talks about the red and yellow dots which are on my old set, but the new A022s have a Yellow dot, a WHITE dot, and a red Triangle on the tires.

So now what do I get lined up with the valve stem? Anyone seen this yellow dot, white dot, red triangle combo before?

Oh well, I guess it must be a new thing.

I went to Yokohama's site to see if it had any thing about the new markings, but nothing. They still just have the stuff about lining up the yellow dot with the valve stem unless you have rims that have that special mark on them that you are supposed to line the red dot up to.

So, I will stick with the yellow dot to valve stem then.

Funny thing though, I got my tires through Tirerack, delivered from their Louisiana warehouse. All I can say is they must celebrate Mardi Gras whenever and wherever they can, because both tires, deliverd on different days, arrived coated with glitter.

Its pretty bad when it looks like your tires have been partying harder than you in the past few weeks. :D

Yokohama's are known to party hard! :D

Don't worry about the dots, back in the old days (when tolerances weren't so tight and bias ply was hot technology) the dots were placed on the tire to denote the high spot. On a Yokohama that you recieve today the dots are mostly for internal plant codes and inventory purposes to help track the tire during tire construction.

Hey Aaron,

That makes sense. Being that these OEM Yokos wear out so fast, I just want to make sure to mount them correctly.

BTW, thanks for having great tire prices and great service. I've been buying exclusively from you guys at TireRack for about 6 years now. I'd shoot myself if I had to go back to hunting around trying to find the tires I want at the price I want from the local tire dealers (not that the dealers around here are bad, its just a pain to call all over the place, and some dealers you have to haggle with to get the best price, etc.). I still compare your prices with some of the chains that have web pages, but you always seem to beat them even with the shipping.

Thanks Again
