Lots of tunnel accelerations, and excellent GoPro footage!

I completely forgot how blahhh a Countach sounds. I guess just like an Egg McMuffin, the thought of it is better than the reality.

That is because that person was afraid to push the car. He was probrably worried that something was going to break. This is what its suppose to sound like.

Yeah pretty sure it has a Kreissieg system since I've seen the vid before. Probably says so in the vid description.

I instructed a student in a late 80's countach once...........and only once:eek:

Yep, it's a Kreissieg exhaust on the black car above.

In the video in the original post, the Countach had just got out of the service shop and had a new exhaust installed recently, so they told him not to push it too hard.

Man I love the Countach! It's still my favorite looking exotic car of all time. Too bad it's so notoriously hard to drive and live with. I wish Lamborghini would build a newer version with the same exterior body but modern stuff underneath. I'd love to have one!

there is a top gear episode with one. front looks ok, but the rear is non existent.

You and me both! My favorite car back in my school days during the early 1980's. I wore my members only jacket and dreamed of the legendary Countach.

Sounds like an Evinrude. Lambo has come a long way since Audi took over.

The visibility in the 5000s wasn't half bad. There were blind spots, but you could see pretty well behind you.

Here is some footage from inside, and it shows some shots looking back.

That's such a badass car! I hope to be lucky enough to ride in one someday, and (if I'm really lucky) drive one.

When I was in the Countach, I never really saw what James May was complaining about. It wasn't hot (I still had my coat on), it wasn't deafening loud, no smell of petrol, I could see behind us ok, and the clutch wasn't that heavy (that was me revving at the beginning.) Those cars are known to be temperamental, so I wonder if May would have had a better experience if he had driven a different one. The only thing I can say is that the cockpit was totally crammed.
