I'm looking for some info on a good custom fit waterproof car cover. I used the search and came up with a bunch of NSX's for sale that come with them but not much else. Anyone have any luck with any particular brands? I ordered a decent one but it fits loosely and im worried it will flap if its on a can hauler, and a snug cover will let knowledgeable people know whats underneath

I had Griots make me one for the track car. Gave them dimension for the RealTime rear wing over the phone, ordered it black over yellow, had the team name embroidered on the front. Fits perfectly:biggrin: and does not leak a bit. Can be machined washed. Not cheap at $300+ but I cannot recommend it any more highly. HTH

I assume that you are referring to an open. Car hauled, trailer, if that is the case you do not want to put a cover on it as it will rub the paint. Most cloths have a grit of 2000 and given enough time and speed on an open trailer you might be looking at some aluminum. I have seen it all too often. In an enclosed trailer, it would work great. Just my 2 cents.

agreed +1. If you need to put your car on a transport and you are worried about exposure (of more than one kind ) you should find a enclosed carrier.

I have a bra for it too. I'm just not sure how to transport it with an open hauler then. I can't find anywhere to rent an enclosed trailer and I have put money down on an open already. I figure if I put the bra on and the cover it would be ok if it was a tight fitting cover and didn't flap in the wind.

Nope. Even the tightest fitting cover will still move around at highway speeds. If it's on an enclosed trailer, leave the car cover off. (I would leave the bra off too.)

Enclosed trailers aren't usually rented; they are typically used when you hire a company to transport your car. And they typically transport six or more cars at a time.

Basically the issue is that I want to take the car to my hometown in Ohio and I live in NC, but I dont' want to drive it that far so I rented a hauler. It's supposed to rain too and I was concerned about the road rash it may suffer on the hands of the highway even on a hauler.

Round trip from hubert NC to my hometown in OH is 1,200 miles plus whatever I would drive while im home. Me and the fiance and the rediculous amount of clothes she would probably pack won't fit in the NSX, and we would have to board our dog. I've thought about it though. I just think towing it with my truck so I can get it there and still fit everything in my truck would be the best option.

Gotcha. Well, just leave it uncovered on the trailer. Assuming it's facing forward, then you can leave the bra on.

Putting all marketing hype aside, if you still want to protect your NSX with a cover while on a trailer, ours is the best product among the choices out there for it has:

The most coverage area (front, back and sides) hence reduces lift and flapping

Comes with two straps for strapping down the front and the back; you can also use the holes for the cable lock at the center lower sides to secure the two sides from lift.

But as others noted, this may not prevent from dirt and air sneaking from under the trailer and causing some air pockets hence flapping.
