daily driver mileage

BEEKER 16

My "BEST" hwy. mileage was a great 27.6, on my trip from San Jose to Salem. That number come out as the best of all and was on the "flats" of I-5(around Sacramento)

As far as intown goes........I don't even try to keep tabs.

My 92 is all stock and I'm running the oem 16 & 17 Yokies.

how can you tell? is there a meter somewhere that i haven't found yet?

1) Fill up the tank and reset the trip computer

2) Drive until the gas light comes on and when you fill up the tank, note the EXACT quantity of gasoline you have pumped

3) Divide the number of miles driven by the number of gallons pumped to get the MPG

This will work regardless of how low you let the gas level get, as most people fill up around a quarter tank. The longer you wait, however, the more accurate your MPG will be for that tank of gas.

okayyyy.....an old man once told me to never let that emty light blink up. I normally refill when i get to half empty. let me see if i can break my habit. :D

thanks so much,

Same as SolidCitizen

SolidCitizen wrote: I reset the trip odometer every fill-up. I usually fill up at 300-310 miles, and I usually fill with a bit over 15 gallons.

I get the same, and I always run it down to less than a quarter, usually an eighth of a tank or less.

I average refill at 324 miles and average 14.1 to fill =23 MPG over a 30 month period.

I guess most of my driving would be considered half city, half highway (the latter being 50-55 mph 2-lane).

I average 20mpg. This is a 1991 5-speed with 153k miles.

Not daily driving, but on all highway trips I get 27-28mpg.

I usually fill up shortly after the low fuel light comes on. There is usually 2-3 gallons of gas left at that point, which is plenty. I was used to waiting until I had about 1 gallon left in my previous daily driver, a Fiero, which once managed to take 9 gallons of gas after I ran out just as i pulled into the gas station. The range of the NSX is pretty nice after that. :)

Usually average about 25mpg to 26 mpg on my '91 NSX (automatic), and about 18 mpg on my '94 NSX (manual). The reason is ONLY because I am always hitting the VTEC with the '94 manual. :D

I never go OVER 1/2 tank. (unless on a cross country drive) You get better performance with the least amount of fuel weight!
