Dali Racing [moved from another thread]

Re: Bad service "DaliRacing" revealing

Why hasn't he been banned here?

Because every time someone posts a thread about getting ripped off his fan boys jump all over the OP and say he must have done something to piss off mark johnson as if that is a reason to excuse stealing from someone. The floodgates open with "he has never ripped me off" and another victim goes quietly into the night......

Amazingly, the apologists constantly post that a buyer should use COD or use paypal/credit cards with an understanding of their dispute procedures, etc., to protect yourself from similar theft.

But answer this:

If you need to take so many precautions to avoid getting ripped off by a vendor, why do business with him in the first instance?

Many say his prices are cheap so we "need" him here. Others would argue his prices are cheap since he steals from an average of 1 out of 3 customers according to his trader rating here on prime so that becomes "built in profit".

Bottom line is he couldn't care less about his customer base. Just read his website musings and ask yourself this before dealing with him:

"now did he fire 5 or 6 shots. Do you feel lucky, punk? Well, do you......"

I personally have bought and received parts from Mark but I wouldn't go as far to say that it is 100% safe to order from him.

Usually if an item is in stock, it ships out in a speedy manner...BUT I am local to San Diego. I think the further you are from his shop the more risk you take.

Put me in the "fanboy" category I guess... 15 years of trouble free purchases -- dozens -- (the last one a month ago).
I really don't get it.

if reading how Dali has ripped off numerous people doesn't help you get it, I'm not sure anything will.....

Re: Bad service "DaliRacing" revealing

I should open up business that is the middleman between buyers and Dali racing. Dali is only a couple blocks from my house. Buyer pays me, I personally pickup, inspect, and ship the part to the buyer. You pay me 15% extra for my service.

How about taking a walk over to your neighbor and ask mark to respond to the OP.....

Re: Bad service "DaliRacing" revealing

As RSO says... the "fanboys" (I didn't realize I would be categorized as that) will start to trickle in.

Welp.. that's me! No issues with Mark and i'm with SFNSXguy... I really don't get it. He actually goes above and beyond what I would expect from a vendor which sometimes means "hey, don't get that part (which he has in inventory) because it's shit...buy this cheaper one instead from ebay". So I double really don't get it.

Is it because I've been to his shop and met him in person and also treat him with respect? MAYBE!

I really do feel bad for you guys and all these bad ratings makes me realize everytime I send him $$$ there's a chance I won't ever see it again. I suppose i'm just waiting for the day I get burned too but for now he's been the best NSX vendor (next to Shawn lol) that i've dealt with (5yrs and going).

btw.. to RSO's point... Unless someone asks me for a personal favor i'm not going to go digging into someone else's mudpit just to figure out their issues in regards to asking Mark about other primer's problems. I've tried being a vendor in this industry. Low margins and generally highly demanding customers which can often times be a-holes themselves (no offense to OP at all) so in many ways.. I do get IT! :) I'm surprised the vendors we have are still around to be honest.

In general, I wouldn't buy anything he doesn't have in stock.

Re: Bad service "DaliRacing" revealing

I've written 2 ripped off threads in the vendor problems section and they never got posted. I believe if everyone thats been ripped by him got posted they would need to start a new forum. The guy sucks.

That's the classic "I don't want to get involved" response that I have seen for many years here. Now don't get me wrong, I am not finding "fault" with you personally. I realize the vast majority of people would rather stay out of other people's problems and perhaps I am a masochist for actually intervening on behalf of the community to try to help with problems (maybe that is from being a lifelong NYer and growing up knowing about Kitty Genovese - you can google her for the extreme outcome of not getting involved.........)

But I am surprised that not one of his fans/friends/apologists has ever asked him to respond to the multitude of persons who he has chosen to ignore all while keeping their money and not shipping their orders. The most egregious example I point out is the theft of several thousand dollars from a member who died. Prime "lifers" will remember that one.

I guess I expect better from the community and would have hoped one person would step to the plate and try to get answers so we don't have members like the OP get picked apart and "blamed" for being an "a**hole", pest, PITA or any number of derogatory comments made toward someone simply trying to get what he paid for or his money back.

Over the years I have provided legal/investigative services to the community and played in their "mudpits" more times that I can count. I estimate that even at discounted rates I could have billed close to $150,000 for those services. I have made dozens of court appearances including on 27 speeding tickets which resulted in ZERO convictions, thereby saving tens of thousands of dollars to our members in fines and insurance surcharges.

I have gone into all those "mudpits" and never charged a penny to anyone at anytime.

And yet I can't find one person willing to take the simple step of asking Mark to please at least respond, return an email, give a refund or simply let the buyer know that for whatever the reason the order has not been filled but there will be a satisfactory end result for that buyer.

And that is truly a shame.
