Danger of long-term targa storage?

I'm fortunate to keep my newly acquired NSX in the garage year round which means it will only be driven on nice days with the top off. That means the top will spend the vast majority of its life in the clamshell. Is there any danger to the top of being in there all the time considering the heat it's subjected to? Any suggestions for periodic maintenance/inspection or just don't worry about it? Thanks.

If I was going to leave my top off all the time, I don't think I would store it in the clamshell. I would be tempted to wrap it in an old blanket and leave it in the garage.

No solid scientific reasons, it just seems like the right thing to do.

That would just tempting Murphy's law a little too much for me because that would be the day we got an unexpected downpour at the furthest point from home. Plus, doesn't that key some kind of warning light if it's not properly seated in the clamshell? I thought I read something about that in the owners manual but need to read it again.

If the top is removed and not in the clamshell storage, a little red light will show on the car outline diagram on the instrument panel. Minor issue, compared to the elimination of heat on the top and weight reduction.
