Dash Fuse Box Help

I have wired a V1 to the dash fuse box location C913 which I understand is “Option Acc 1”. I am getting a 12V reading on the volt meter, but when the V1 is connected the voltage drops to 1.435V. I don’t understand why the volts are dropping. I have wired the V1 gauge directly to a 12V battery just to double check that the V1 itself is not bad and sure enough it works when wired directly to a 12V battery.

Could the fuse be shot that goes to the C913 location? Where is the fuse for this location? I don’t know and would like to check the fuse. I assume the fuse is good since I am getting a good 12V reading, but again I am only seeing 1.435V when plugged in.

I am at a loss, any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

All I can think of is that you probably have a bad ground. Have you tried to re-connect the ground wire to another point under the dash?

I have not, but will go out in the garage and try that right now and see what happens....

By chance do you know what fuse controls those 4 extra connections locate in the dash fuse box?

Thanks for your help!

Hey guys I wanted to thank all of you for the suggestions. I was able to determine that it was a bad ground. I never would have thought this because of the fact that I was getting 12V when measuring between the power wire from the fuse box and what I thought was a very solid ground. After running a temporary ground directly from the car battery, the V1 worked fine. After that I figured it must be the ground. I took the ground that I had made off and reconnected it again to the same spot and now it works. I will monitor it to see if it holds.

Thanks again for all the suggestions!
Paul
