Dent removal by heatgun?

My new Honda Odyssey got caught in a hailstorm and now has dozens of small dents everywhere. If I heat them with a hair dryer, will they pop out, or is this a false rumor? The body shop wants $3000 and two days to fix them NOT including the chrome trim around the windows! :frown:

It depends on the dent. Heating causes the metal to expand which can pop out a dent but hail damage is really not the right kind of dent.

It would be a comprehensive claim for our insurance except that they'll just raise our premium!

Get this: Allstate has the nerve to ask for more money to sign up for an optional service that prevents premium increases for customers who file claims!! (which to me means, if you choose not to accept this outrageous scheme, they will raise the premium!)

Double check on that. Insurance companies are not allowed to raise your rates for a comp claim (at least in CA, thats how it works). Check that out w/ your insurance company.
