I've removed my engine cover. So it sits in my garage collecting dust and furrballs. Occasionally i remove the targa top, and store it in the trunk with a blanket.
If you go to Bed Bath and Beyond, for $12.99 (here in phoenix) you can buy a table leaf cover. It's basically a fairly sturdy colored extrra large pillow case, that happens to fit the targa top and engine cover (separately) perfectly. I am having a 1/2" thick mattress cover sewn in inside for cushion for the targa top, as well as some naugahyde reinforcement for the edge (front, side, rear) of the targa. I'll throw a pic up later..
