Do these times look right to you?

I was told that these are the 1/4 mile times one could expect from a "stock" NSX. I thought they might be slightly optomistic. I did a search and the best time I could find was a 13 flat for the Type Zero.

Since you guys are the experts, whacha think?

3.2-liter NSX Coupe 12.8-13.0 seconds
3.2-liter NSX-T 12.9-13.1 seconds
3.0-liter NSX Coupe 13.7-13.9 seconds
3.2-liter NSX Zanardi Ed. 12.6-12.8 seconds
3.2-liter NSX Type S 12.6-12.8 seconds
3.2-liter NSX Type Zero 12.5-12.7 seconds
3.2-liter NSX Type R 12.7-12.9 seconds

Looks about right to me as "best case" times. Of course many factors could throw things off obviously.

Popular Mechanics pushed a 97+ T to like 13.17 in the 1/4 and a member on these boards pulled a 12.9 with an 02 pretty much stock.

Most folks would prob be more in the 13.3 range for the T's and a couple of tenths lower for the (no longer available) coupe.

As the weight drops the times drop accordingly with the NSX-R being king of the NSX hill at around a 12.4.

I think the Type S Zero and the Type R times are transposed in your list...

I don't know where those times came from.

You need to distinguish between magazine testing times, and amateur dragstrip times. Magazine tests use professional drivers and highly standardized procedures (bone stock cars, stock tires, stock pressures, all standard equipment in the car, full tank of gas, etc) and, for that reason, wind up being quite consistent, usually within a tenth of a second or two from each other. Amateur dragstrip times can be all over the place, with huge variability in driver skills, standard equipment (e.g. spare tire, tools) removed, gas tank close to empty, tire pressures adjusted, aftermarket mods present, etc.

Assuming you are referring to magazine times and their standard procedures, typical test results are closer to the following:

3.2-liter NSX Coupe (including Zanardi) 12.9-13.1 seconds
3.2-liter NSX-T 13.2-13.4 seconds
3.0-liter NSX Coupe 13.7-13.9 seconds

The versions of the NSX that aren't available in North America haven't had the usual rigorous test reports by the magazines here.
