And the residents of these states are still better off than at least 4 billion other humans. I been to shanty towns outside of beijing where average household net worth is ~$100 USD. No unemployment or social security either. I know many residents of these states are struggling but it's a good idea to put it into context. Do not feel sorry for most the adults suffering from obesity though. If you are poor you probably have plenty of spare time; get off your ass and walk somewhere.

I just gotta LOL after reading this since the post I had read just before this was another one of yours preaching compassion.

No slicing and dicing Dhalsim! In general, I do feel bad for them as I mentioned in that same post; but I am human  and I am getting tired of watching america slowly kill itself. The upper middle class and above are in phenomenal health while the poor smoke too much and are too frequently way over weight. A lot of the issues the poor deal with they have little control over, I truly believe that an attitude change could really help with the physical health part.

There is enough information out there for these people to take responsibility and spend 30 minutes a day walking around for exercise. I guess I could be more compassionate and hand out Twinkies instead.

lol....I agree with you

I live in Montana, turns out its the 10th "happiest" state. I would not have thought. Although I live on the plains here. I know alot of people who love Montana. I like it, but do not love it. Plan on moving closer to my hobby. Auto industry and road racing.

I always knew steve was a wise man - he knows that obesity is a variable one can control despite his surroundings (not that it is easy, unless of course you are starving than it is quite easy).

Don't know if i can agree with this unhappy people statistic though. I hope it is true.

I know they aren't worried about
Bpa in their ravioli
Getting cancer from smoking
The price of gas
If bottle water has plastics in it
Or pretty much anything else that is designed to cause them stress in the media.

I live in Ohio - 5th on the list.

The only thing I find miserable is the winter. But nothing a trip to the beach in February can't fix.

Cheap housing, cheap food/clothing and we have a nice concentration of small businesses and Fortune 500 companies located here.

Dude, Cincinnati sucks. Lousy bars, no good Italian food, no NHL team, no NBA team, crappy football and baseball team, lots of fat chicks, no longer a hub for a major airline so no direct flights, and worst of all the chili is atrocious.

My house goes on the market Friday and as soon as it sells, I'm out of this miserable Midwestern town. :)

I have to agree. The prices in Ohio for housing and such are ridiculously cheap but the rest of this state is miserable.

You must be going to the wrong places, sir.

I couldn't give a rats ass about pro teams. I'm happy we are devoid of drug dealing, law breaking so-called role models for our children.

And skyline chili is bomb.

Dude, Skyline chili SUCKS.

It's like Hormel over a bowl of watery noodles.

IT SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS.

I do not get it. I mean, really. The worst homemade chili is better than that crap.

It SUCKS. Did I mention it SUCKS? Cause it SUCKS.

Ouch! Easy there, big fella... Don't get all worked up about it. He didn't necessarily say it "was good" - he said it "is bomb." Now that could mean Skyline Chili rocks straight on through ya and may require a sufficient supply of sh*t tickets on hand as it "bombs" outta ya???
