double-post bug???

Lud, i made a post in the below thread.... i only posted it ONCE, but it shows up twice. i tried deleting the 2nd copy, but still two remain?!

I almost guarantee you double-clicked on the post button.

But if i d/click the post button, it usually says you can't post for another 30 secs...

Ah! So you are admitting to double-clicking the "submit reply" button! Bad user! Bad user! (...making notes...)

Just kidding. I'm not really sure why it happens sometimes, but there may be a bug in the flood control routine (the thing that tells you to wait 30 seconds). I've noticed very few double-posts on vBulletin compared to UBB though - maybe 5% of what we used to have.

half the joke there is i repeatedly find myself telling users they don't have to d/click when using the Internet.... hahaha....


i better clarify why i double-click... [ Lud = ]

Often i'll click 'submit', but sending seems to lag so i'll click it again coz there's nothing else to do. Also my mouse left-button is a bit sensitive, and will often d/click for me....

i've also noticed the huge reduction in double-posts. I think the 30sec pause is the main reason, although don't forget the "delete" function either. I love that check-box.
