Will be driving to Columbus from Houston. Are there any construction or other delay issues I might encounter along:
I-40
I-65
I-71
or any other places.

Thanks.

I just took that same route from Texarkana along I-40 and I-65 to just south of Louisville... came across some construction just inside Kentucky but nothing major. Didn't seen anything they were doing that would cause car damage (something I ALWAYS watch for after having a paint job almost ruined once by a careless road paving crew.)

It was minor... no major delay at the time we came through (around midnight) but there may be some delays if you travel during the daytime.

Can't comment on the roadways between Houston and NE Texas or anything after Louisville.... Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the help.

How long was the drive you took between Texarkana to the point south of Louisville? I will drive from Tyler, TX to some point near Louisville I think in one day. Need about 9-10 hours I would think.

More specifically, we drove from Sulphur Springs. (Most people have no clue where that is so I use Texarkana as a reference.)

We ended in Fort Knox... just 20 minutes off 65 once you hit Elizabethtown which is about 30 minutes from Louisville.

In a Honda Odyssey, traveling no faster than 75mph at any given time, with 4 kids in tow, (to give you an idea of how often we have to stop because SOMEONE always has to "go") , it tooks us about 13 hours. This includes 2 stops for sit down meals plus 3-4 stops for restroom breaks and gas.

If you can average about 70mph (barring any bladder issues or female passengers) you should be able to easily do it in 10 hours.
