Today was the first day I have used E85 in my Ridgeline even though it’s not on the list of cars. It seams to run just fine and it’s about .30cents less per gallon. At the pump it says its 105 octane and we all use 91 octane for the NSX could we use it? I need some one to be the test dummies for this post  any volunteers?

Brave man, unless your car is built to use E85 you should not use it. E85 is a feel good fuel, it feels good to use home grown fuel but it takes more oil to make than it replaces. It costs more to run even though it is cheaper because your gas mileage will be 10%- 15% less.

While I agree with Brian about the possible problems with running that high a concentration in a setup before any conversion is done, I cannot agree with his claim of net energy loss of ethanol. That is just propaganda put out by those that do not want to move away from distilled petroleum. Ethanol is not the final answer, but it is surely a step in the right direction.
