We understood your point, but maybe we can help clarify the reasoning. Past NSXPO's HAVE used the exact same formula. Last year's NSXPO had the published dates as October 8th-12th and the early bird registration & cocktail party was on October 7th. We have simply followed this exact same formula because the cocktail party & early registration really are precusors to the event itself. At NSXPO 2003 the dates were also October 8th-12th and they did indeed start on the 8th. This is because the 8th for them was a full day, starting with their two scenic drives (long & short) and they had the cocktail party that evening, making it slightly shorter in overall duration.
NSXPO 2005 includes a full dinner at Macayo's on our first full/actual day of NSXPO, rather than just a cocktail party, which we have placed on the day before for those people arriving on the afternoon of the 6th or before. We certainly welcome people to attend on the 6th and hopefully you can see the logic in the schedule as to why the 6th isn't included, just like last year. Were we to publish the 6th as the start date, many people would then assume they should arrive on the 5th, which is not necessary. It is a pre-NSXPO function essentially.
Hope that helps and we are anxiously anticipating a wonderful NSXPO!
