a buddy of mine who thinks the stock market is gambling asked my opinion on buying some karmas at the now price of 50-60 K and storing them as an investment....any thoughts?

It's a really difficult thing to say. I find cars that really appreciate to be superior in engineering and design and the Karma only has the design part down. I think there are safer things to invest in. Tell him to open a Yoga studio and get a good teacher in there. It requires a room and mirrors and teachers are dying for an opportunity and space.

lol nice spelling of fisker op.....:redface: His reasoning is of course the limited production, rapid depreciation,and his belief that the company will be bought for pennies on the dollar,and possibly revived.He puts this on a similar level as the delorean, :confused:......oh well,anyone think he could be right?

The DeLorean originally sold new for $25K in 1981, which is the equivalent of $63,000 in 2013 dollars. Those cars now typically sell for $20-25K (in 2013 dollars, of course). 'nuff said.

Good friend of mine was one of the original investors in Fisker, saw the way it was going, got his money out, cancelled the two "launch" cars that he was entitled to buy. These will never be an "investment", the comparison to the DeLorean is a good one. Tell him to buy a Ford GT, a Carrera GT, an F40, those are very likely to keep appreciating, a Fisker, NFW

I wouldn't buy a Fisker Karma. I've always thought they were ugly. They had enough problems to go under. Why throw money that way?

I'd buy stock in Tesla instead. Oh, wait, I already did.

thanks for the perspectives

A client of mine just had his Tesla delivered. From the minute he placed his order, his sales consultants assisted him every step of the way. Even gave my client their personal cell phone numbers and said call 24/7 if he had any questions. They also answered email messages at 11 at night.

He loves the car and said it is crazy fast, better than his 550 BMW.

As for the Fisker, try buying a battery pack for a car that is no longer made.

I'd have to disagree with most of the opinions. I believe Fisker Karma is a great investment ONLY if you park it in your garage full of nice rare exotics with insured agreed value doubled of actual value.

This garage should be detached from the rest of your house, for safety reasons of course.

Fisker = NSX KILLER

Don't worry. In boston this car is known as the Fiskah Kahmer. "Hey Matty lucky this Fiskah Kahmer" is actually "Hey Marty, look at this Fisker Karma"
