I've placed for sale ads on Craiglist and NSXprime in the past---this recent month for some reason had the most number of people flaking out. Holding on to items for the would-be-buyer is a no-no... Just sharing my experience

The big 3 automakers are saying the same thing... we keep going back and forth to DC and Congress keeps Flaking out on us. Good thing they have private jets. BTW: I was talking to a friend that is a pilot for GM. They are getting rid of their Private Jets... they are being sold to a management company that is going to lease them right back to GM. How's that for BS! And my friend looses his job on top of it.

I hear you. People are quick to say I'll take it - I will not hold anything anymore. First to Paypal gets it, if someone else paypals after and before I can close the thread then I will refund immediately. I wish Prime had a buy it now button.

If you think that is bad listen to this story. I have a 2002 Corvette w/ like 9k miles, I have for sale. Purchased the car like a year and a half ago. And I have a friend that wanted the car real bad, but did not have the money at the time. So I told him I would hold it for him, he agreed. So about 9-10 months go by I ask him if he still want the car he says yes that he should have some money in a few months. In the mean time I had a guy that was looking for the exact car, I had promised my friend. He offered to purchase the car for $2k more then what I was going to sell it to my friend for. So I call my friend up and explain to him my situation about the extra money and what not. He tells me he still wants the car and he will have the money soon. So, I being a Man of my word, tell the other Guy that its not for sale. My friend backs out a week or two later. So now I’m stuck with the car that I held onto for him for over a year and a half. Its winter time, the car depreciated in value being a year older, and did not get to enjoy it because, I did not drive it after he told me he wanted it. The real zinger is, I was going to sell it to him for my cost. But I kept my word, that means more to me then the $2-3K I lost. But I did loose a lot of respect for my so called friend.

Same here for music gear and parts. I think some people think you are some big company and they can just idle around till they are ready to buy.

I enjoyed the reading and what a unfortunate situation you have on hand. I'm thinking your friend (not worth a lose of friendship over this)may have had his loan declined and is too polite to be frank with you.

Regarding your car sales, winter is a challenging time for sellers. To end this note, I wish you these three things: May the inquiries fill your inbox, may the callers be financed ready, and may the tire-kickers miss your ads!

I will hold any item for a period of 7 days with a non refundable 1k deposit. No deposit then they aren't serious.
