Flying Car

This would change the entire economy if produced and sold. If I could travel at 400 mph I would be buying lots more rental property in places much further away from my home. Having dinner/pizza in Chicago one night and NYC the next night. I could also make it down to my Florida house in 2 1/2 hours without layovers so I would be going down every weekend. All you people in California would be saving a bunch of money on gas as you would not be burning up so much gas sitting in traffic jams, at least the people who can lay down 90k for the flying car that is.

All you none Rx7 lovers

That's 4 Mazda rotary motors thats RIGHT 4

This guy has been developing this thing for years... I remember seeing an interview 10 years ago where he said they would have it ready by the end of the year (1997). I think the problem is that there are so many turbofans engines to drive this thing that the useful range is almost nill as it faces the law of physics... need more fuel, more weight, bigger engines - more weight, bigger engines, more fuel.

just what we need, a bunch of amature / novice "pilots" buzzing around at 400 mph...

There is a reason so few people own private planes. Flying isn't easy, and keeping an aircraft flight ready isn't cheap.

"Flying cars" are neat as a concept in Back To The Future but they really aren't practical.

Flying is easy... So easy, even Ms Teen S. Carolina could do it.

Whats the mpg on this thing? Can I just pull into my local Shell station for a fill up?
