Well since Akira3d posted something for GT6 I guess to let some of you guys know Forza 5 is coming out in about 2 weeks on Xbox One.

Positive news is the game looks to be very high quality! Bad news is it had a lot of content cut for the sake of having to start over from scratch (200+ cars and 14 tracks). Luckily both the 1992 and 2005 NSX-R models made the cut. (I'm actually excited to see how the 1992 NSX-R will look because if any of you can recall the early NSX model they used in Forza 4 was not very accurate/horrible and was just a carried over 3d model from Forza 2!)

Another bummer is the Nürburgring Nordschleife was cut but is suppose to be release on January as DLC. Apparently they are laser scanning the track this time so that's why it's not included in the game. Additionally they will be releasing 6 DLC packs (1 every month) with 10 cars each so a total of 60 more cars will also be added but it will cost you to add these. First DLC pack includes Ferrari LaFerrari. Seems like they are nickle and diming us this time around... :(

Here is the trailer for the game that just came out about 2 days ago.

Here is a comparison video from Forza 4 vs Forza 5.

Rumors are going around saying Fanatec wheels won't work on the Xbox one...

Yeah I think they shot themselves in the foot with that decision. Considering those wheels cost hundreds of dollars and that if you get the clubsport stuff you are into it at least 500 dollars for the equpiment. To not offer support for that is like a slap in the face to their fanbase. Hoping that they do release a firmware update or patch to allow it in the future though.

I preordered as soon as it came out. I also have a fanatec csr with clubsport pedals...really hoping for some good news soon but it's not looking good. Really sucks. Might consider selling the fanatec if I can get a good price for it.

I've still got high hopes for Fanatec to get their 360 products to work on the One.

But, until I hear it for sure, I'll be sticking with 4za. Like others, I've invested too much in my set up. Fingers Crossed!

Heart brake at 3:40 :(

"Xbox 360 Wheels won't be compatible with Xbox One"

That is true, BUT there is hope fanatec will work with some type of dongle like it does with the PS3. We will learn more soon.

Might want to think about when a good time is to sell the Fanatec's if it's not looking good. Once the masses hear, the resale value will plummet

PS, did I mention I'm in the market for a wheel setup for GT6? :D Just picked up a playseat for REALLY cheap $$$ (the guy threw in a Logitech Momo setup for free... but already thinking of upgrading). This is for my son for XMAS of course.... *cough*

I will certainly sell mine if it doesn't work. I am hoping xbox one has a wheel that is half as good as the fanatic. I hear the thrustmaster ones suck. I really don't understand why ms would just abandon fanatec. I think ms should have bought them.

So I played forza 5 Friday at the Microsoft store and it is amazing. I want it bad, but no way I'm playing it without a wheel.

Unfortunately just 1 year ago I could have sold my setup for 5-600. Now I'd be lucky to get 250 for it going by what I see on ebay. So we've already missed the window for resale value.

Looking forward to it, wheel or not.

Seems like they are nickle and diming us this time around... :(

As much as I'd like to knock them, I've actually been defending Turn 10's decisions to release with a lesser number of cars and circuits. I never liked the car models in Forza, preferring the accuracy of Gran Turismo's over Forza's...even GT5's standard models were more proportionally accurate than many of Forza's 4 higher detailed models. So I am glad to see that all of the cars in Forza 5 have been remodeled or are completely new...and look far more accurate than any they have included before. It must have been a really tough decision to not carry over their flawed version of Nordschleife...though I personally would have prioritized remodeling it over any other circuit given how much time I spend on it in the Gran Turismo series.

The fan base must realize it is very tough for any developer to match content and quality of such titles as a launch title for any new console. Look how much of a hit the Gran Turismo series with its debut on new consoles...and it came out nowhere near the launch of each PlayStation.

That said, it is absolutely fair for fans to complain about the lack of support for older wheels. This has been my favorite aspect of the GT series...I can still use the USB force feedback wheel I bought for PS2 with PS3 and PC. These type of controllers are among the most expensive you can buy, so why gimp their usability by limiting them to a single console. I have long had an issue with wheels on Microsoft consoles because it was Microsoft who decided to disallow USB force feedback wheels with the first Xbox, not support the Logitech wheels on Xbox 360, and then prevent users from bringing their 360 wheels to Xbox One.

Note that Sony has stated USB-based controllers from PS2 and PS3 are not compatible with PS4, but, unlike Microsoft, they left a loophole....stating that publishers can elect to support specific controllers with certain games. In other words, our current wheels may or may not still work whenever GT7 comes out on PS4. Given how many wheels within the Logitech Driving Force series were developed specifically for entries within the Gran Turismo series, I cannot imagine Sony wouldn't continue to support them on future titles.

I'm actually not upset about the lower count or track count because of the reasons you just stated. I even mention they are remodeling the older body style NSX which was poorly modeled in all the previous iterations. So I am quite happy they decided to make high quality models for this generation.

The nickle and dime comment was more about the day one DLC for the LaFerrari car pack. I understand they are still working on it hence why it's not on the disk, but for it to be released on the same exact day the console launches and then being ask to pay for it that same day you just bought the full retail copy leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I personally think at least the 1st DLC pack should be free to all Day 1 and LE purchases of Forza 5 as a thank you from Turn10 and Microsoft to it's fans/early adopters. Would be a good gesture to the gaming community and start things off in better terms than how it is now.

Either way only one more week guys :)

XBox 360 Wheels on XBox One
So far there is no adapter solution to make an Xbox360 wheels compatible with Xbox One and it is unsure if this will be possible.
But there is a high chance that you can use your pedals, rims and shifters with a potential new Fanatec wheel for Xbox One although we cannot confirm a launch date yet. This will save you a lot of money and you can keep using the equipment you prefer.

Sorry for the Dumb Question: How much more realistic are control and the graphics and compared to Forza 3/4? I hate to buy a whole new console just for 1 game. All my son and I play is Forza and F1 on Xbox. I don't need it for anything else - Not Xbox live or Movies or Internet or music, etc etc.

I was thinking the same thing, as I don't need a new console as I am not a big gamer. However i beat the previous Forza's including 4 and def got more than my monies worth out of them. To do Forza 5 right it will cost close to $800 and I am not sure it is worth it.

Picked up Xbox one, but since no wheels are out and mine doesn't work, I didnt get Forza. I will wait until I can get a wheel.

forza & xbox are waiting on my doorstep...can't wait to get home!

Too slow, I beat you home and snagged the box. Watch my youtube channel for the unboxing video.:biggrin:

I just played about an hour of the game. I was able to buy a NA1-R and make it look like my NSX. Very happy with the new model for the pre-02 NSX. Unfortuneatly had to leave to go to work and now will need to wait until later tonight to play again.... it's gonna be a long night :(.

Unfortunately my copy of Forza won't be here until next Monday. :(

NSX looks incredible in game:
