From MBNA to BofA

Seems lately I have been chasing customer service issues with vendors/retailers .....

As some of you may know, MBNA was purchased by Bank of America. Since then, I had to call them for each monthly statement because of something or another. Corrections made do not reflect timely; my statement cycle keeps changing whereas before it was 30 days ........ They didn't even notify customers that electronic transactions were changed so one had to re-enroll before hitting deadlines. Any of you having similar problems with BofA credit cards customer service?

Bank of America is the worst bank in the world. It sucks my left nut, then my right one. For more proof, check out this thread, especially near the end. It seems other people agree with me too.

had similar problems.... from my personal bank acounts, to CC's, and now MBNA accounts... my online accounts are whacky....

Both banks have been terrible to me and friends.

I used to have a credit card with MBNA, but they kept changing the payment due dates earlier and earlier (so much for setting your own statement date, as they advertised). I even called them about it, and they denied it even though I still had copies. It got so bad before I cancelled the account that I'd receive the bill and had to mail it in within 4 days or else it'd be late. My father used to have an account with them too- they changed the fixed APR from 6.9 to 24.9 with almost no notification (and no delinquency on my father's part). Same thing happened to a friend, where MBNA claimed they put a little card saying that they had to return the card to keep the current rates, however no card or notification was included.

BofA tried to screw a friend of mine about a stolen card. My friend reported the stolen card within 10 minutes of it being taken (pickpocket). They refused to help cover the charges telling him that he must have given it to a friend who ran up a bunch of bills, as a thief couldn't run it up as quickly as he did. As far as I know, they are still out $300 that the thief took before he reported it. A similar thing to a coworker too, but it was reported a few days after the theft (ID theft) took $7k out from their debit card and BofA froze all accounts, even savings , so they couldn't buy groceries or gas for a week(no access even from walking into the bank with proper identification), while saying that it's all the person's fault.

Mine went from ...MBNA MC to Amex to Amex BofA

Yes, I had two MBNA MC accounts and they have been very aggressive at pushing to make the change to Amex BofA as well ....... quite a few retailers are refusing to take Amex.

So what are other more user friendly CCs?

I hate discover card.....

seem to hear good things about citi credit cards....

I went through pretty much all of them for business accts and personal accts. (WAMU, BOFA, WELLS etc, etc, ).

I finally settled with UBOC a few years ago and it's been pretty smooth.

Don't know about others, but here's what I carry now:

Chase: used rarely- very low fixed APR and use only for large purchases that will carry a balance, comes as expected every month with no problems yet

Wells Fargo: everyday credit card, high APR but paid monthly, customer service is about as good as I've seen- takes a little while to get through phone system (5-10 minutes), no problems with customer service when challenging double charges (one call, talk to rep for a minute, they say they'll take care of it, and it's done), called about overseas travel to let them know about foreign based charges and had no problems using it

i have an mbna card as well and i used to be able to log in and take care of my transaction online but now everytime i goto mbna.com it redirects to bofa and i already have a bofa account so when i log in it automactically goes to my bofa account instead of my mbna profile, and i know i can add a new profile to my preexsisting one but gosh darn it, wtf is it so difficult!

mbna sucks! bofa as well but luckily enough for me my housemate is a bofa rep and makes it right for me....
