I'm currently running Kumho Ecsta MX in 215/40/17. The tires perform pretty well as far as grip goes, but they get pulled in different directions pretty easily. If I drive on smooth roads they're fine, but if one of the tires gets on the white paint on the road or any uneven surface, it pulls the car to that direction pretty violently. The tires have around 6,000 miles on them, but have done this since new. It happens at any speed and I've used pressures from 25 to 40 psi. I'm leaning toward the Goodyear F1 GS-D3's, Pirelli P Zero Nero or Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2. Any feedback would help.

what's your rear size?

Before you buying another set of tires, you might want to check your alignment, could be too much toe out...

If this is the first time you driving with high performance tires, the stickier the tires are, the easier they pull in the situation you mentioned above... so in a way, spending more $$ won't help the situation...

The rears are 275/35/18. The car doesn't pull to either side on smooth roads, so I thought that ruled out an alignment issue, but I'll have it checked.

Are you considering change all four or just fronts?

It's not an alignment "issue"; stock nsx setting have front tires toe out to help initial turn in, in your case that the road condition is different under left and right tire, that might create a pull sensation...

Yes, that's possible.

Also, check your tire pressures, if you aren't already doing so on a regular basis.

In any case, beware when replacing two tires and not the other two. It's best to have all four tires of the same make and model, and where that is not possible, to have all four with very similar performance characteristics. Otherwise the handling can be unpredictable (one end can grip better than the other as a result, which can degrade the handling, and then if the conditions change, it's possible for the other end of the car to suddenly grip better instead).

Of the other tires you mention, the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 is better than the other two. If you decide to switch, buy four of them.

The rear tires really need to be changed, but I was thinking of changing the fronts too to see if I could fix this problem. So I'll probably change all four with tires from the same manufacturer, keep tabs on tire pressure and have it aligned. I assume the GS-D3's are pretty much the go to tire for you guys?

Yes, it's a very popular tire, one of the best on the market, offering a combination of great performance on dry pavement, great performance in rain, and reasonably long treadlife (for an NSX, anyway).

I suggest getting 265/35-18 in the rear, rather than the 275. Stick with 215/40-17 in front.
