Front tire tearing up plastic guard for AC fan

I have 92 NSX with Modified springs, Bilstein shocks and 215/40/17 front tires, nothing changed for many years. Now the tire on drivers side is hitting the protective guard for AC fan when I hit the many holes on our very poorly kept roads, usually with wheels turned slightly. What could have worn out, only happening on left side, if shock, how do I check it. Thank you
