****UPDATE BREAKING NEWS!***

We will soon be developing and building our 100% carbon fiber trim kit for the 2017 NSX and wanted to start a discussion here. Taking on such a project is no easy task as this is a huge commitment in terms of the costs and development time. For any owners of a 2017+ NSX we would love to gather your inputs on this matter as it would help us determine what to do first.

Our plan is to release the interior trim pieces in 3 stages:

Stage 1: Release the pair of door trims in full gloss carbon fiber (matte is an option) so the two door trims can be replaced rather easily

Stage 2: Develop the center stack trim piece where all the buttons are located

Stage 3: Develop the dash trims that surround the radio and the driver / passenger vents (these are the most difficult pieces to make) and require significant disassembly

We wanted to know your thoughts on if you would want to buy the whole set or which pieces are most important. Keep in mind the driver and passenger vents are all rather complex pieces and the passenger radio trim is all part of the dash and passenger vent as ONE UNIT!

We won't know costs at this point just yet but wanted to get a feeler for what owners thought....please chime in now!

These pieces will be full carbon fiber with a Gloss carbon finish similar to our other offerings right now. Please take a look here at our website and social media links. We also have quite a few pictures on our Instagram site here:

We are offering a discounted price for the first 10 committed buyers in this Group Buy. Once we have more information we will release the Stage 1 pricing and some prototype photos but as of right now they are in development so no pics!

Please PM us or reply here to get on the list. We only ask for a 50% refundable deposit to hold your spot in line.

Any questions feel free to reach our via PM or email ([email protected])

thanks again for your continued support!

here's the OEM part removed from the car for reference: (Stage 1)

Interior trims inside the car stock:

here's our other projects showing the full 100% cf nose beak:

Our thicker meaty grip Carbon Steering wheel is a great replacement for the thin stock wheel, this shows the stock interior trims to be replaced in stages:

Extended CF paddle shifters are a nice touch and direct OEM swap! We also make the steering wheel in a meaty grip without CF if that is your preferred taste: (every piece is bespoke and made to each owner's exact specs so you will be guaranteed to get a unique part that speaks to your taste!)

Are you proposing to redo the aluminum piece that cuts across the car in the passenger side and sometimes reflects the sunlight? Can you somehow point out which pieces you are proposing to be done in CF?Thanks

Based on what they described above, I think that would be part of item #3 .

Yes our plan is to replace all the silver trim in the car in stages as each piece requires a lot of product development. The piece you refer to is just under the passenger glove box and extends to the passenger vent and also the right side of the radio so it's not separate pieces! It's actually one very large complex piece. This will happen last in Stage 3 as it's one of the trickiest pieces to make.

DJ Iceman: thanks for the interest! We do not have pricing as of yet since we are still developing the parts. We have to look at 3 major areas for cost: LABOR TIME, MATERIALS, DEMAND as the mold costs have to be spread over the cost of how many sets we think we can sell to recoup the investment. When we are ready we will post the pricing on our website and here.

Please follow us on Instagram as you will get alerts there and also on our Youtube channel!

If you are interested in the product let us know and we will add you to the list.

thanks!

I seem to recall when watching a video on the assembly of the NSX that the dash contained the large aluminum piece. So I wonder if it is easily accessible, or would you have to remove the dash in order to gain access to the screws?

Happy Friday!

The list is getting started so anyone who wants a pair let us know as these will be VERY LIMITED in supply. Extremely difficult to make each piece.

drmanny3: We were in discussion with our Acura Master tech source and he quotes around 3.5 hours to do the removal of the part. It's definitely not a simple task to remove but then again, no pain no gain :)

thanks again

I think it would be good enough to just do real CF overlays instead of panel replacements due to the labor involved.
Steve

thanks for the input and idea!

The door trims are being developed right now and those 2 pieces on the door are relatively easy to remove. We are making those in full carbon because of strength and should be ready shortly for testing. This would allow customers to retain their stock parts which some owners may want to do.

As for the other more complex to remove parts, the only way it would be "easier" is if you did vinyl wrap as any Carbon overlays would require Core Stock parts and the parts still need to be removed from the car. We will know more as we dig deeper into this dash setup.

thanks!

UPDATE 9.16.20

We will be opening up the Group Buy for Stage 1 right now. We are working on the mold and prototype pieces which will be tested in-house and locally with a few NC1 owners by the end of this month hopefully.

Once we confirm fitment we will start shipment based on the list below. A few of you have already confirmed you wanted a set and are on the list. Please PM or reply here to get on the list if you wish to have a set of the carbon fiber door trims in Stage 1.

Special Group buy pricing will be set at $1595 per pair of the door handles. Once the 10 spots are filled the price will go back to the retail price of $1749 per set.

You can take me off the interest list. Those look like they would match the exterior glossy CF pieces but definitely NOT match the matte interior CF from the factory. High-quality work, to be sure, but just not for me.

No problem - just FYI but we do offer these in an optional MATTE finish which would be a closer match.

Acura makes things a bit confusing since in the early models they made the NSX OEM carbon in a matte finish. In later model years they went to a glossy finish, go figure!

here's how it looks installed:
