Gauging interest for group buy - NA1 rear splats

I am wondering if anyone is interested in getting this kit for their NA1 NSX. The company is a Japanese shop and the current price plus shipping to the states will be approximately $500 for ONE unit only shipped individually (depends on exchange rate). I am trying to see if a group buy is possible just so we can get them at a better price and with lower international shipping. I would like to get back to them with a certain number in mind. Nice, this should be a good alternative to the '02+ OEM piece as well as a benefit for those who want to run dual tip/oval exhaust that couldn't fit with the OEM piece.

Do the side pieces fit over the OEM piece?

I will send the installation question to the seller. Based on the initial reply, the pricing will go like this:

with 5 units, the total cost will be approximately $425 per unit shipped to the states
with 10 units, the total cost will be approximately $375 per unit shipped to the states

These pricing are still preliminary. I will keep you updated.

Installation:
Center parts is installed by double-sided tapes and exisiting bolts.
Side parts are installed by double-faced tapes.
No modification is needed for the bumper. These parts will be ready to paint.

Latest on the pricing:

If we order 5 sets, the revised estimate will be $355 - $380 plus shipping within 48 states.
If we order 10 sets, the revised estimate will be $325 - $350 plus shipping within 48 states.
The reason I gave out range is based on the fluctuation of the exchange and I want to leave some cusion for the slight change of shipping cost down the road.
However, it seems like they want an answer pretty quickly. I would like to know who would be committed to order a set just so I can get back to the shop.

If you current have the exhaust on with no problem, you will not have any problem with these rear splats since they are just add-ons to the existing ones with no change to the wide of the exhaust outlet.

At this point, I will try to have the shop ship ALL units to me to save on international shipping, which will be >$350 w/ insurance. Therefore, I will have to re-pack them in the US and ship them out individually just so everyone would be paying >$100 shipping.

I will have to get the dimensions and weight from the shop in order to give you an estimate for shipping.

I'm interested in the side-spats ONLY, so I'd be obliged to split a set w/ you!

However, this is contingent on a set final-price based on how many people are doing the group buy. An out-the-door shipped price of near $300 for the center-piece and two rear-spats, I'm in! (I know a few others who haven't posted, but would be interested as well for a 300/shipped price... so let's see how many total buyers we need for this price!)

BTW, Bling... any comments on the fitment/alligning/gaps-spaces w/ the reat spats? How do the flow alongside the NSX'es body w/ OEM side-skirts?

If you use heavy duty/auto double-sided tapes, they tend to be pretty durable. I have see people mounting various add-on body parts with no problem. Anyway, I forwarded your question to the shop already.

Osiris_x11 - What I can do is to arrange a local pick up for some SouthCentral members. Hopefully, that would take care of some of the cost. However, I don't see anyway of lower the international shipping. :frown:

Anyway, I am requesting more higher-resolution pictures from the shop. Based on my initial observation, they look to be a good fit.

The final pricing estimate is out after a few email exchanges with the shop with my calculation.

If we order 5 sets, the final estimate will be $355 plus shipping within 48 states.
If we order 10 sets, the revised estimate will be $315 plus shipping within 48 states.

These prices are not set in stone but should be within $10 from the actual cost.

Any SouthCentral member is more than welcome to arrange a group pick-up to save on shipping cost. However, since they are light and the size is not large, I don't foresee the cost will be very high.

The shop is sending me more high-resolution pictures later.

AR - the distance between the side splats and the center piece is approximately 20 cm (~ a little less than 8 inch) as you can see in the first picture.

The center piece can be purchase separately, but at a higher price (checking now).
