gear switch time

Does anyone have an idea how long it takes a competent driver to switch (up) gears while at the track? I am using about .3sec in my spreadsheet to calculate 1/4mi/0-60/etc. times. Is this realistic? What kind of range would be normal for a competent driver (ie not profesional race driver but not a total douche bag)

Thanks,

Scott

I dont know scott but 0.3 seconds seems a bit optimistic to me. The Ferrari F1 Electro-Hydraulic tranny does it in 0.2 so...
I would estimate 0.7-1.0 seconds for a full gear change..
