Got extra $2,000...suggestions?

Exhaust and headers.

CT headers, Bilsteins & HIDs for my $2k. If you can buy the headers used, I'd add more aggressive brake pads (Carbotech Bobcats for me) and a Smartenna to the shopping list.

Dave-

My first suggestion is to give me the money. But I guess that doesn't help you does it

I'd say help your car breathe with exhaust and headers. My understanding is that the NA1 cars respond very well to exhaust and headers and you could, in effect, accomplish a number of things with these changes. You could, for example, lose some weight off the car, make it sound better (assuming you like a little louder exhaust), give your car a boost in power, and make your already unique Brooklands Green even more unique.

I don't know that I'd advise the spring and sways route. I'd be concerned about altering the ride height and livabiilty of your almost daily driver.

The HID headlamps, however, are a very good idea, IMO. I got in on Steve's group buy (the NSX headlamps just suck in comparison to the HID's on our other cars). Cheap, easy to do, and you no downsides really.

Or... maybe do some stereo work on the car since you drive it so much.

Either that or just give me the money... Oh... I guess I already came up with that idea

Spend it on going to NSXPO 2005. Especially since it's in your part of the country this year, and probably won't be nearby for another few years after that. Bring your spouse/SO with you.

If there's enough left over, get HIDs...

If you're interested in improving vastly at autox, then take some of it and invest in a few Evolution Driving Schools. They generally run $200 - $250 each, and you get excellent instruction from some of the best autocrossers in the country. It will improve your autox times more than any part you can buy.
Funny, I would say pretty much the exact same thing about the drivers school at NSXPO 2005, for road course events... ;)

Exhaust and headers for $2000? That's cutting it pretty close, isn't it? Not sure if you can get both of those for under $2K, at least not new.

B&B header $1300
ARK Exhaust $550
With money to spare.

Ok well Dali exhaust $599 then.

Guys, did you see that he's going to track and autocross the car 3-5 times a year??

ok, here's what I'd spend:
Since you have a 94, you may still use the stock 91-93 15/16, and at SoCal, you may pick a set up for cheap, (someone is selling 'em at $50 on For Sale forum here)... Then you may have an extra set of tires to play with on track. R-compound tires if you are ready. Ok, lets say $150 for the wheels and $600 for the tires.

After market steering wheel with momo hub... Should be done with less than $300.00

Harness bars with harness: $600.00??

$450. for stoptech Aerorotor.

$110 for Carbotech panther + for just the front. ( Ok, it's over $2000 now, but the last two modification and dare I say all... can be beneficial or crucial for the track days at nsxpo'05, so it's kind of overlapped, )

My car had exhaust and intake mods that came with the car, I like them a lot. IMO, it gives out the mean nsx side that fits more into the exotic car category... (fart can rice boy image, depends on which level you re looking from). However, it will definately not be the first couple mods I'd spent money on.

I like the way NSXDreamer2 is thinking. The more I think about it...

$750 for wheels and track tires (Toyo RA-1 is $130/tire for 205/50-15, $163/tire for 225/50-16 at Frisby)

$80 for a Harbor Freight jack to bring with you to change the tires at the track

$430 for Cobalt Friction Spec VR track brake pads (that's for two sets of front pads plus one set of rear pads) - Note, if you don't want to bother swapping brake pads before and after events, then you can get Cobalt Friction GT Sport street-track pads, around $300 for two sets of front pads plus one set of rear pads.

$400 for HIDs from WhiteNSXs

$200 for a spare pair of front rotors (PowerSlot or stock)

Well you made the first best choice by coming to xpo,the second best choice would be to bring some tools and a friend to the parking lot at xpo and swap your stock parts for whatever looks good from the plethera of modded cars around you! You can find some neat stuff on the SOS car or if MJ shows up he'll let you take anything off his car  Just do it around 3:00 am.

Seriously, I'd invest the $2000 in a good racing school, as I think learning to drive the car correctly is going to count for a lot more speed than any parts you're gonna put on your car.

What I'd do...

hmmm... Your plans sound very similar to what mine were about a year or so ago ($2,000-$2,500), but since then the number more than doubled to $5,000-$5,500. Just a fair warning!
