Greenhouse / Cockpit Cover

Is anyone aware of a company that makes a cover just for the greenhouse / cockpit? i am looking for something for track days that I can put on the car to keep the cockpit cool(er). A full cover isn't really an option, and it is too big to keep taking on and off between sessions.

Thanks,
Mark

A loooong time ago, there was a "F-16" style cover that did the windshield and hatch. Chris at SOS might know more about it.

I checked with Chris, unfortunately he couldn't help. He was very quick with his email reply and I appreciate that!

try sunbrella

I PM'd Hrant but never received a response. Is he still in the NSX scene? At a minimum all I need is a patten or template and I'd take it to an upholstery shop that specializes in boat tops / covers.

Unless you know someone who knows him I'm thinking your attempt will be suboptimal...

Has anyone ever seen an external cover? like a car cover but only the canopy area? Years ago I worked in the parachute industry and fabricated a variety of covers for lots of things. It isn’t rocket surgery, and a soft cover that one could put over the glass would be helpful on hot, sunny days.

Off the top of my head, an issue would be keeping the cover from blowing away (unless some tie down straps were included). A downside of an aluminum body, magnets would be the obvious solution.

I was able to track down the manufacturer and supplier of this canopy cover.
They were originally ordered by the "NSX Club" and the supplier has about 20 still in stock.
I ordered one and will report back.

This is the material the covers are made of. Looks like good stuff.
The item does not appear on the website since it was discontinued.

Here is the supplier's website.

And here is the person you can contact directly to order one.

Thank you ajmr2. Exactly what I was looking for. I went ahead a placed an order with Jeff.

I used to have a simple and (relatively) inexpensive silver/gray, unlined reflective canopy cover with straps, for a MR2-Spyder which also worked on an NSX and 911 Targa. It had some elastic and velcro straps, and its own storage-bag. I'm fairly sure I got it at some discount department store, and I later noted it on Amazon.

FWIRC, it was very similar to the half-covers that are available for Boxsters.

Here is the model for the boxster.

And for an S2000.

North American Custom Covers Compatible Soft Top Roof Protector Half Cover for Honda S2000 https://a.co/d/78KvWah

I literally ordered one of those last week and it was delivered today.
Good quality, heavier material than I was expecting, and it protects the soft top and interior in the blazing heat.

UPDATE: The S2000 cover is good quality material BUT the bottom liner which contacts the soft top and glass is a flexible plastic. I'm not sure if it's worth the money since that plastic could heat up under direct sunlight.
I'll see what the NSX cover looks like in comparison. It might fit both.

UPDATE: The NSX canopy cover arrived today and I'm happy to report it fits well enough to use on the S2000. It's reflective, very lightweight and folds up very small in its included bag.
I like it.
