GTR discussion gets a little NSX hate-flavored

I find it rather funny that the more posts and seniority you have, the bigger your "engine" tends to be. Sounds like some American muscle logic to me. Bigger is better.

Well, the kid does have a point. The NSX is pertty slow for today's standard. It is too bad he has to compare a 17 years old technology to a GTR that is not even going to come out till next year. It's like comparing the NSX to 1969 Mustang.

Com'on Guys, it's a GM forum, what did you expect?

I don't believe any one of us bought the NSX for its speed capibility, but the over all package. For those who wanted more speed most likely got a different car, or had some kind of FI in the car. Haters are every where, don't spend too much time thinking about what they have to say, it's pointless.

That is exactly the point.
So I will start by slamming the 69 Mustang:
GAWD it is heavy. And primitivvvvve. Unbelievable. And the handling!!!(hand slaps forehead), jeez, and NSX will beat the hell out of it on handling, AND even in acceleration. Even though both have a V6 and the Mustang had Holley injection and tons of camshafts (they give tons of torque) and the NSX has only a pushrod carburettor. Still the NSX is way better. For everything. Well, ok,the Mustang has a bank seat so it is way better to lie down in. Have you ever tried to lie down in an NSX, it’s terrible, but that’s the only concession I’m going to make even though I have never driven either car. But I DID sit in one once. At a show. Had to stand in line though.
And the Mustang brakes!! Sh*t, the NSX brakes waaaay better. And those bias ply tyres on the Mustang, talk about terrible cornering! Hey, the NSX has radials, whatever the hell that means.
No, you can’t tell me the 69 Mustang is anything special even though I’m an expert and I don’t have anything better to do than type this...

Actually I think that is a "membership status"- newbies are Ecotecs, and the more seniority you get the greater your designation. It could also be related to post count.

I wonder how long you have to be a member to be an LT-5?

P

And years after the idiot becomes an LT-5 his memebership status goes to NSX. That would be funny if the NSX was one of the top cars.

They should call the next NSX an SLX :) SL wannabe to me

FWIW, the GTR incredible time of 7:38 at the 'Ring was done with "cut slick tires" and not street tires. Slicks helped it corner at 1.2 G in the wet and 2 G in the dry.

Wished they would have ran it with the stock tires. Kinda anticlimatic.
