I bought my 1991 Black NSX about 2 months ago. When I first bought the car, I was going through some buyers remorse because basically....I didn't need it. And I have always been a saver! I'm totally amped and excited about this car! When I get in it, the angels sing. (Robert Kiyosaki talks about this experience with his Porsche.) It puts a smile on my face everyday, that alone is worth the purchase price! I guess there are some things more important than money in life. I feel more hopeful about the future. (I just got divorced) I guess I have been making a list of everything my wife didn't want me to do and now I'm doing it! What is up next? Lasik!!!! Real estate investing!!! Swing dancing!!! EHarmony!!! Nelly Furtado concerts!!! Buying a business!!! Supercharge/turbocharge it!!! I mean......BRING IT ON!!! I love the way the car drives and the way it looks. It is a classic beauty. I'm so upbeat and positive now! It is remarkable! Life is too short not to have a few luxuries in life that make your heart beat faster. Life is more joyful with the NSX! Now I know why you guys love these cars! Life is good! I am grateful for the NSX and everything that I have in my life!

How has your attitude changed after you bought your NSX? (positive or negative)

Cheers!
John

Hey me too! I get my 1991 Black NSX at the end of the month!

Okay its my goal to post in every single forum posting that I get my NSX at the end of the month (exporting it). However, I'm super amp'd at the moment and too don't need the car but have wanted it BAD for 16 years. I'm a saver as well but couldn't resist the temptation anymore - life's way too short.

Anyway I'll post again at the end of the month (when I pick up my car) how I'm feeling and if I experience any buyers remorse - NO WAY!

I guess you could say my attitude has change somewhat after my 3rd day of ownership now. Now I'm completely scared sh*tless of getting hit by another driver:rolleyes:.

My dad taught me alot of things. One important one was, " Life's too short to drive a Buick".

lol. I like that.

For me, my attitude hasn't changed at all. I was pretty anal about figuring out what car I wanted though. I spent a year thinking about it, test driving, etc. When I bought, I knew there wasn't another car made that I wanted more.

I had buyers remorse BIG TIME. Lots of positive and negative feedback. Way too much attention. Sometimes I get really tired of it and don't mind rollin in my 03 corolla (Dealer demo) or my gf's civic.

My attitude is the same, but I tend to baby the car too much. It seems like everytime I drive it I find a new rock chip. I also don't like to park it just anywhere. So I probably dont drive it as much as I normally would. I usually just take it out on the weekends for long drives. I love the car...have been buying lots of goodies for it, but have yet to install them.

hahaha.... dude you sound like a guy that just broke out of prison...

Hey John.
Where are you in Monrovia and where do you teach ?
I live and work here, and do just about everything else in Monrovia!
Send me an e-mail.
Oh to answer your question, yes and no. I use to own a 72 Dino, so the NSX is simular to that car, being mid engine 6 cy etc, but of course the Ferrari has status, but the Honda sure does hold up much better!!!
The NSX does get the looks and comments like the Dino did, maybe as much more or less. Which one looks better ? its a toss up.
Which one sounded better, the Dino hands up.. At least while I'm running the GT Lightweight and no intake mods. There is no chain whine like the Dino :(
Oh so in answer to the question... Less worry about having a car that won't run or that would have problems, maybe a little more worry that I have an expensive car sitting in some parking lot ready to get bumped or dinged!

it makes me feel alot better knowing i'm driving around an awesome car. to tell you the truth i was acutally gonna buy one of those lancer evo MR but stumbled upon my car now and let me say that i love this car. when i drive around its like i see the same evos, g35s ,bmws, wrx ect.. i even get looks from those owners and thumbs up. (most the time they just wanna race me) and to figure i got the car for probably less then what they paid for theres but sinc ei got this car i havent really been going out or doing anything. i just drive it to work and to the store. always get complemens.

There were two cars I have always wanted to own back in high school days.

First was the F40, perhaps some day, and the other one was the NSX. When I saw photos Ayrton Senna testing the prototype, I know it's going to be an awesome car.

As time goes by, I lost my interest a little, but when my financial situation got better, I bought my first NSX in 2003, a 95 model. When the right opportunity arrived, I trade it in for my current 03. It is a wonderful machine, i can't believe the improvement Honda did from 95 to a 03.

Of course, I achieve one of the two car goals, and it is rather fun to know that I own a piece of automotive history. F40 is on my mind, but not within reach. Both the NSX and the F40 were the last car built before the passing of two of the greatest founders of car manufacture. Enzo and Soichiro.

Like Vance, I always wanted the NSX. I was in high school when a brochure from Acura was mailed to my parents (who never drove or purchased a Honda/Acura, go figure). My dad threw the brochure away. I walked by and fell in love with the simple, elegant beauty of the NSX. I promised myself I would have one.

So for me, it wasn't a matter of changing attitude or regret. It was the culmination of a dream. I had high hopes for the next NSX however, it seems Honda will do Front-Engine. As Vance mentioned in another post, I and other NSX owners have "cried" about this:tongue:

So, my next goal in a couple years, is to get a late model NSX:biggrin:

NSX = Contentification (My word Patent Pending)

My attitude have not yet changed much. I dream about NSX for years because of the the beautiful look. I had many opportunity to buy one 8 years ago, didn't give it a thought, didn't know used NSX can be so affordable and can save me $20k over everyday German cars that lose most of its value in 5 years. Best financial decision ever. I became a smarter shopper after that and demand best bang/maximum joy for the buck on everything I buy after that.

I did came very close of selling my NSX in 2005, at the time I was so happy with the performance of my Supra, NSX just felt not as fun and a bit lacking in certain areas. I actually choosed to sell NSX at first, thank god I started modding NSX shortly after, other wise I would be scrambling to buy another one now.

At the moment I have already build it to my liking. While street racing is stupid. Car alreday does 4sec flat 0~60mph with just a low rpm launching, 3.6~3.8sec is possible at current lighter weight and higher rpm launch, virutally no problem against anything at any power level in none roll on situations. Rolling acceleration wise, many cars can rape me, but I shouldn't get into those situations risking losing my license anyway.

My other dream car is R34 GTR, never gave it a thought, becuase they are somewhat unreachable unless I spend extensive time living in other part of world. I would like to own one someday even if I can't drive it all the time. I will always want the R34 no matter how nice or better the newer ones might be.

I don't think R34 GTR is totally unreachable in North America, there is one up for sale as far as I know. And I know a person is still able to bring it in legally for street use.

The way the car is perceived has changed the way I am perceived in my career. Quite a few producers and directors who wouldn't even bother to remember my name before are now all chatty and personable, like the car is an equalizer of sorts. So far, it's been a bonus for my work life.

Good luck, they can seize it at port. Unless it is clearly a parts car. Which means damaged or engine out.

Then have fun at the DMV when the VIN doesn't work, and then again when you try to insure it.

I have a friend in college who got a right hand drive integra in and titled but he would not give out how he did it. He was a foreign student and I believe he used that angle.

"That’s what I am now, a “rich prick.” Prick always follows the word rich. If you’re rich, you’re a prick. Just the way schmuck always follows the word poor. So I went from a poor schmuck to a rich prick without hardly any transition. Of course, I was a poor schmuck longer than I’ve been a rich prick, and frankly, I’m not that much happier as a prick than a schmuck. I never thought I’d become a prick. Neither did my friends. They said, “He’ll never be a prick!” And then, boom, I’m a prick. Now I have all new friends. All pricks. Schmucks call me from time to time. I say, “I can’t talk to you. I’m a prick.”"

words of an ingenious Larry David.

If the cars model is sold in the US, it can be done. There are lots of RHD Integra Type R around sountern California. The Skyline R32 and 33 are registered under 240SX, from what I understand. That is why R34 is having problem because they didn't have the 240SX in the states after 2000 (?).

Congrats on the car! My attitude has changed a little bit. I am a bit more relaxed and enjoy letting people sit in the car and taking people for rides. Essentially when I got my first NSX I decided to make a personal responsibility of doing what I could to help change the perspective that the public has where they think exotic car owners are uptight pricks. Well...for the most part, they are, so I wanted to change that. By taking a 'play it down' attitude it has helped me realize that nothing really matters except feeling good about life, and helping make peoples day when they get excited about my car by letting them get a closeup look.

By the way...Nelly Furtado is playing tonight here in Chicago if you hurry up. ;) :D
