Hi, I just acquired a set of headers from a 97 NSX. This header is the freeflowing one that came from the factory. I understand I need extensions to make it fit on my 91. Do I really need the extensions, or can I have a muffler shop just weld on the extension pieces versus buying one for $250.00 from SOS? I've been looking to get used ones bur haven't found one available for sale.

if you go thte muffler shop it might be a little cheaper but not by much. Most do not have a mandrel bender so they order the piping.

I guess if you had them make you one with crush bends then you could have it done for about 100

I would save the hassle and just buy premade ones that are guranteed to fit.

Its only 250.

I would doubt that a muffler shop will have the ball/socket flange to match up with the '97 header to connect up with the Cats. You will probably end up spending a fair amount to fab up pipes that will fail in short order. If your eliminating the Cats, you might want to have a custom set made that mate the header with the '91 exhaust, but again, it's important to use the correct flange that will allow some movement of the engine without cracking the pipes.
