Hi there - Ive seen photos of S2000s with NSX rims on them. I am trading in my S2000 and am wondering if my Volks will fit my soon to be 2002 NSX.

Ive read the FAQ, and I do not believe they will fit. But Id like to confirm.

18s. 8.5 inch front with 50 offset. 9.5 inch rear with 55 offset.

Looks to me that I would need a 70ish offset in the front and a 60 to 65 offset in the rear for it to fit.

Stock sizes are 7 inch front with 55 offset and 9 inch rear with 56 offset. My rears may be close, but the fronts dont look so good.

Thanks guys!

CORRECTION -

my rims are actually 7.5 front with 50 offset and 9 rear with 55...

Rears - look perfect.

Fronts off stock offsets by about 11 mm. Ideal for a 7.5 inch front looks to be about 61.

Thoughts?

Do the S2000 wheels take into account the difference in size (front vs rear) of the centerbore on the NSX wheel hubs?

The centerbore wheel hubs of the the NSX and the S2000 are the same. Front and rear.

I guess someone else already addressed the centerbore issue.

What Volks? Most of the Volk wheels in 7.5" and 9" inches have the following recommended offsets.

7.5 up front should be in the neighborhood of 40mm~44mm offset
9 rear should be in the neighborhood of 35mm~40mm offset

So both the front and the rear wheels will be a bit sunken in. This will become a bit more pronounced if you ever decide to lower the car.

Please put them on your car and let us know if it'll work or not... one thing though, maybe the 18 inch front will give you some problem of getting right tires without triggering TCS problem.

Do you have pictures? It looks odd to me, that 61ET fronts is the ideal offset? Do you have enough clearence for the caliper? In my opinion it should more go to 45 than to 60. But it depends a lot of the shape of the spokes. And your idea of what you think look good for your car.

Perhaps I am doing the calculation incorrectly? With increasing width, do I add offset or subtract it?

I've added 6mm for each 1/2 inch in width to come up with "ideal".

They are Volk GT-Cs. The rears were originally 50mm, but were milled to 55mm to perfectly fit a lowered S2000.

The more offset, the more the wheels come to the inside of the car.

As a rule: If a certain rim model just fits the way you like it (fitting nicely with your fender) and you want to increase width, than you have to add 1/2 of the extra width to the offset. So what you did with adding 6mm for each 1/2 inch (12.7mm) is the way to go. But you have to consider that the S2000 uses different offsets than the NSX.

Interesting... a co-worker just asked me today if I still had my OEM NSX wheels and that he was interested in buying them. Turns out he just bought an S2000 and said the NSX OEM wheel fits the S2000 and he needs a set of track wheels.

You're meaning the 7 spokes I believe? They will fit. Because they are wider, they will even look better than the original S2000 wheels.
