Wondering if anyone has had luck with the apex v-afc 2. I bought one but am having trouble figuring out the pin diagram for my 1991 ecu. If anyone has any insight on this or a diagram labeling the pinout functions it would be greatly apreciated.

I wonder how well this works, ive thought of installing on but im unsure of the pro's and con's.... Let me know, id be interested in purchasing one.

AFC part will still work.

does the AFC provide any "real" performance gains?

I was thinking of getting the Greddy Emanage for my 1997 NSX. I can't really find much on it working with a NSX or OBDII and what I can get to work, ignition timing, VTEC, etc. If anyone has input on this it would be wonderfu!

Thanks in Advance

I dont see many people using AFC's or vtec controllers on NSX; is it just me? Maybe they arent really benificial

I've seen AFC in pics of NSXs in Japan but none here in the US (sans more than just a aesthetic addition).

I'd say you're best options are a chip from either SoS or Dali...or full bore EMS (AEM or MoTec).

You would want a Safc on a NSX... the Vafc does not control both banks of vtec on the V6...

I have a S AFC i removed from my car.... its great to adjust fuel but as everyone said a V AFC is useless because you can't adjust the vtec. IF anyone is interested, I would consider selling it whereas i took it out when i put my interior back to basically stock. Shoot me an offer if ya like.

At first I assumed the Vafc was the correct choice as well... But time and time again people on this board have said they have tried and it, and it does not work... Here is part of a quote from a response to the same topic(by CK SB):

"I have tested both the SAFC and the VAFC II on boosted NSXs and the VAFC II can not be used. The drivers within the VAFC II that control the VTEC engagement can only control one set of cams. Trying to drive two banks will not work according to the Apex I staff and the unit will malfunction, a.k.a. release the magic smoke."

Well, all it is is a RPM switch, so I assume that it has enough current for one solenoid, but not two. In that case, a relay should allow you to use it.

I had the same promblem i bought the Apexi vafc2 to put in my 92 nsx you cant do it b/c you have two v-tec on cams you would have to have two apexi vafc2 to work and i really dont think it would work to good just get the safc thats what i got now just wanted to let you know

Someone else had tried the Greddy emanage with no success (tunapie). I think that he eventually went to the AEM or TEC3 unit. Got the car running but kept tripping error codes. Tim
