Help: Offset for 17"x10" rear and/or 17"x9.5" rear wheel

Hello,
I will be buying a new set of rear Enkei RPF1 wheels for track days. I want to go with the 17" rear wheels instead of the 18" wheels because the R Compound tires are MUCH less expansive in 17".

I am an illiterate when it comes to fitments. Can someone please inform me what offset I should be looking for in the following REAR wheel sizes? I need to know both, since I'm not sure what wheels Enkei has in stock.

Offset for 17"x10" rear wheel = ?
Offset for 17"x9.5" rear wheel = ?

Thanks in advance,
ryan

I just put a set of RPF1s on for track wheels. I will put up a link to some video in a second. I went with 17x8 +45 F / 17x9.5 +38 R. I am running Toyo R888s (which run wide) 235/40/17 & 275/40/17. I went 17/17 for cost ($300 difference on 18 tires in the rear). Plus the 18x9.5 and 18x10 are back ordered from Enkei - big time! I was told by Tire Rack and another that it would be end of Aug realistically to get a 18x

The F rub at full lock, but not a big problem for track wheels. They both fit flush to the fenders... maybe its just me, but I wish that the offset was a little higher (closer to the hub) F & R so they don't stick all the way out to the fender.

Captain,

Do you have a full view pic of your car with the Enkei's on. I'm really considering this in size 15/16 or 16/17 mainly looks(ala F1) and cost.

Thanks.

10" rear go with +35 for a flush look
9.5" rear go with +29 for a flush look
Not everyone wants the "flush look". Personally, I prefer the stock suspension geometry, in which the tires and wheels are somewhat "pushed in" towards the car. I suspect it's better for airflow management and fuel economy too, but I haven't actually tested it both ways.

I am running Toyo R888s (which run wide) 235/40/17 & 275/40/17.

The rubbing is caused by the oversized tires, not the wheel offset (and, as you note, this is not a big deal for track use). With the tire sizes normally used for street use - 215/40-17 and 255/40-17 - the tires shouldn't rub if you choose the best offset for your wheel width.

Hey Jim

I've been looking into these for a track set of rims and I definitely like the idea of running 17/17 to save on $$ for r compounds.

My question is, how much clearance is there under the rims for a BBK all around? The fronts with a 17x8 +45 may not have the right offset so I am a bit worried about that. My Fikses are 17x8 +38.

EDITED: Never mind. I saw that there was a 17x8 +35 option on Tirerack that they use for the rear that would work for the fronts instead for me. Billy (stuntman) suggested using that in another thread
