Help, trying to post pic says file to large

I am taking pic of my car with dig camera then loading on my puter. How do I make file small enough to post here?

Or do as many do. Take pics with your camera at the smallest size. Then 90% of them will upload without any trouble. If they are still a bit too big, crop some sky or grass etc, to reduce the size without reducing quality.

Be sure you are in a JPG format and not BMP. That was the problem I was having.
