Help with 10mm Bolt

I have the spare tire bracket and the wing nut that holds the tire to the bracket. Now I believe I'm only missing the 10mm bolt that goes on top and connects the bracket to the frame of the car.
Should this 10mm bolt be a wing nut as well? I'm tempted to go to Home Depot and get the bolt/washer, but I want to know what the correct original part is. If there is a 10mm wing nut that is supposed to be there, I'd like to get it.

On my "03" it is a bolt. The same as on the brackets that are holding the ventilation fan which are on either side of where the bolt you are referring to is mounted.

No wing nut. Just a bolt (can't remember if it's one of those bolt's w/ an integrated washer...sorry). You can get a bolt+washer and it should work.

I believe Honda coated some of the fateners to prevent galvanic corrosion. If you are threading a steel bolt into an aluminum thread there is a bit of a corrosion issue. It wouold be increased if the area was subjected to water and/or salt. Keep your car out of the ocean :wink:

Yes it is a bolt, and as Alan points out it is a Darco coated bolt.
