my problem is this:

after having my 96' nsx up to nearly 180 mph a couple of times (on an empty bridge at 4:00 am) the car felt fine the car was lowered with the w.w. kit and oem spoiler
now i have my 91' with the same stuff but i have got the phase rear spoiler (similar to realtimes) and twice i have goten up to 165 and the car felt very light in the front end, in fact once i had to slam on the brakes because the car started to drift side to side is it the wing? should'nt that pin the car to the ground better or just the rear end? or do i need something other than the w.w. front lip to complment the wing? or is it because the car is lighter than the 96'? if anyone has had similar problems and solved it please let me know
thanks
stuart
p.s. the defuser might help but can that be used with rm exhaust?

You need to cover up the front bottom to generate some downforce and also some kind of lip spoiler to split the air coming in. The huge Marga hills wing is designed to be used with their front bumper which has a lip extension. Miss-matching aero-components is like miss-matching brake pads, result can be very dangerous.

A vented hood should also go a long way towards increasing front downforce (or at least reducing front lift. If you get a front undertray and a vented hood, then all that air that goes in through the radiator will go out through the hood and up over the car, instead of going down near the battery and out under the car.

Plus, the vented hoods just look awesome.

Also, having a low-to-the-ground horizontal surface in front should help as well. When air hits the front of the car, it develops high pressure. If the surface is all vertical, then it just slows the car down, and slips under/over/around and keeps going. However, if you have a horizontal surface down low, then the high pressure will push down on that surface, helping downforce.

BTW, how the heck did you hit 180 with a '96? Are you supercharged?

mike,

i do have dali racing double scoop hood and i do like it. my 96' didn't have that hood,
i was under the impression that was for cooling the radiator, not for aerodynamics but i could be wrong. i was spraying nitrous to get to aroung 160mph and then the car crept to around 180mph
i was toying with the idea about getting that cheap stuff they make vinyl signs out off kinda looks like honey comb inside and get it in black and try to cut and attach it to the under neith of the car to help because i also don't carry around my spare wheel which won't help the problem either..

That's a matter of personal opinion. Some people like them. Many people think they look like crap. Get what YOU like.
