Im looking for tires for my current wheel set, Enkie Rp01's, 17x8 (38) 18x8.5
(35) but I just ordered JIC Force 05 17x8 (45) 17x9.5 (38). The're on a slow boat from Japan with an estimated arrival date of mid may. My rears tires are bald and my left rear has a slow leak comming from somewhere. I dont mind buying two sets of tires, but I would rather buy one set that will work on both sets of wheels. From research on Prime of aftermarket 17/18 tire sizes. Ive narrowed it down to the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec or Yokohama S-drive. The problem is that Dunlop Z1 Star Spec does'nt make a 225-35-17

92 OEM specs: 15x16 ?? offset (Diameter 23.1) (Rev 897) ?? Weight

Yokohama S-Drive
225-35-17 w/17x8 38 offset (Di 23.1) (Rev 897) 20 lbs. ea.
255-35-18 w/18x8.5 35 offset (Di 24.9) (Rev 811) 25 lbs. ea. = 728.99
or
215-40-17 w/17x8 38 offset (Di 23.8) (Rev 873) 22 lbs. ea.
265-35-18 w/18x8.5 35 offset (Di 25.2) (Rev 823) 26 lbs. ea.

The Guy at Discount tire shot me a price of 728.99 installed w/road hazard and lifetime balancing on the Yokohamas!

Dunlop Direzza Sport w/ JIC Force 05
215-40-17 w/17x8 45 offset (Di 23.8) (Rev 876) 23 lbs. ea. $126
275-35-18 w/18x9.5 38 offset (Di 25.6) (Rev 811) 32 lbs. ea. $254

Will 225-35-17 and 255-35-18 even work? .........Ken

You can find a tire that fits both a 8.5 and 9.5 width wheel?

And, Im not sure the offset has anything to do with this, does it? Maybe from a rubbing the fender well standpoint.

When you look under the spec's section at the Tirerack for Yokohama S-drive it gives the rim width range of the 255-35-18. It shows a range of 8.5-10.0

Is anybody else running 225-35-17/ 255-35-18 ?

P.S. osugrad97 nice basketball game! I thought the HORNS were going to pull that one out!!

FWIW, running S drive with no rubbing.
Specs are:
Front 225/35R17 8" wide with 37 offset
Rear 265/35R18 10" wide with 35 offset

I've tried most sizes you posted.

The 225/35 and 255/35 would be a good match together on the Enkei wheels. For the JIC I'd step it up to a 265/35 rear and 225/35 front.
