What's the highest HP you guys have seen out of a street NSX???
I don't want to come off like I support street racing, however I was invited to a X-Mas dinner the other night. It was put on by a group that does some serious 1/4 mile & street dragging. The guys seemed really respectful of the NSX, but after seeing some of their cars (and their video footage) it doesn't look like a NSX would ever be able to come close, even some of the turbo NSXs I saw out at Expo don't look like they would stand a chance. One of these guys had a supercharged and heavily worked Viper putting 850hp at the wheels, another a twin turbo Z06, then a C5 with a worked 436ci engine with 650hp at the wheels, and of course the obligatory Supra running 28PSi. I actually talked to the Supra guy for a while, I gave him the old faithful NSX speech, about how our cars are great on a road course. I felt kind of silly to find out that he actually tracks him car on a road course as well. He told me I wouldn't believe how well his car runs at Pocono, and that he walks away from seriously built M3s all day. You know with 28 PSi and the right driver I believe him.
Now please, spare all the comments about how great the NSX is, and all the other factors and points about the NSX I should consider. Your chatting with a guy, who has wanted one for a very long time, and wouldn't give it up for 5 Supras. This is merely just a question. Because with all this high HP stuff floating around these days I was wondering if someone can just take an NSX engine drop the compression to 8.5 and run 28-30 PSi out of it. Hell maybe they did already, if so what type of number s are they pushing????? I don't think I have seen anyone with over 600hp from a NSX, am I correct???
