I got word that in Japan there are very little performance car parts to go around. I also heard that honda buys up worn NSXs over there and refurbs them and resells them, so they do not lose value. Cool!!!

That's my prediction. It is going to happen after the dollar falls further. It happened with older Ferraris when the dollar fell significantly in the late 1980s. Europeans brought them "home".Texas91Brent said:Pretty cool as long as they don't start buying USA cars and shipping them back to Japan!!!!

It is absolute BS! Honda do not have a lack of parts in Japan for the NSX! Honda are NOT buying up old NSX's and refurbishing them I know that for a fact!
However, Honda do run a "refresh program" as Vancehu said and their prices are available on the Honda Japan website... The refresh programme has also been discussed at length on this site previously as well...

If there are very little car parts to go around, how does Honda buying and refurbing cars help that situation?
Secondly, how does Honda refurbing cars help anyones resale value? I would think the less NSX's there are on the road the better the resale value of the NSX would be. This is basic supply and demand. Assuming demand is constant if supply goes down, economics dictates that the price will either stay constant or go up.
